As of the close of business Monday, 116 intrepid picksters have signed up for this season’s college pickem for the GTP Refugees. 12 Week One games are posted for your prognosticating pleasure, beginning with Cincy/Nebraska Thursday 8/28, then two hold-your-nose picks on Friday (War Eagles/Baylor and Coach Prime vs the North Avenue Tickle Pile). A full Big Noon to midnight slate on Saturday, then a couple of games over Sunday and Labor Day (my TCU/UNC over/under on live shots of Beli’s Chick stands at 9.5).
The lines are now locked, so if you picked early for Week 1, go check and make sure you still like your picks in case the line moved.
As in the past seasons, we’ll recognize a weekly winner (don’t forget to set your tiebreak!) and a season-long winner. If there’s a season tie, we’ll use the conference championship week games as the tiebreaker.*
I try to pick the 12 best games each week, with SEC games of interest (aka Hate Picks) factored in. You’ll have up until kickoff for each game to finalize your pick for that game, but don’t cut it too close, please.
