Countdown to Georgia Bulldogs Football, 15 Days

Good morning! Our countdown is down to 15 days…

For 15 days remaining we’re back to the 60’s. Here’s card #115:

When he led the team in receptions in 1968, I was 3.

Hey eethomaswfnc! We got our Century Club package today, Rams host Turner County tonight in Sylvester. Our Jr QB is getting some notice around the state. Hoping for a big season this year! How’s everyone feeling about their high school football this season?

Go Dawgs!

  1. In Florida my Jefferson county Tigers start play next week on Friday the 22nd. Not usually a good team but they are fun to watch. I am ready for some football.

  2. I watched Milton play the University of Buford last night. Milton had a really good fullback playing QB and lost. I wonder if Buford gives out more NIL than the north ave trade school does each year.

    • Man, how things change. When I was in high school, Buford was a class A school.

      • Buford was our main rival in class A, and we regularly whooped their butts.

    • I get a chuckle out of national attention Milton gets … I remember they lost to Roswell in 1983 and then lost the next 37 in a row.

  3. Charlie was as fine a pass catcha’ as Coach Dooley has evah seen! Wonder why he didn’t go pro?

    • He went to an NFL camp but got cut. He lacked NFL wide receiver foot speed.

  4. Gunner has done a promo spot (I’m sure pro bono) for the Athens Area Humane Society (on their social media). A DGD helping DGDs (and cats, too) find loving homes.

Every time something comes out about him, I want him to be successful this season. I hope he gets a huge ovation when he’s introduced in a couple of weeks.

  5. Charlie was the Facilities Director for UGA AA. I got to work with him on several projects. DGD!

    • I never had the pleasure of knowing him but his reputation was that he was a first class person.

  6. My Westlake Chapparals here in Austin are contendahs again. Senior QB, good skill guys and a good defense. 🤞🏼

    • I remember the 1989 WLOCP. It was Goff’s first season and Mull’s final season. He was a game captain in part because he was a Floridian and he spoke to the AJC about how much that game meant to him. After the game (we won) I looked for him on the field and he was expressing pure joy. I have always remembered that.
