Good Friday morning!
We’re now 35 days away from the Thundering Herd. Here is card #135 in our countdown:

Here’s another SOWEGA player, apparently born in Dawson and attended Albany High. My best girl is from Terrell County but, she said she didn’t recognize the surname Cushenberry. He was the most outstanding player on the team in 1956 which was 5 years before she was born. I assume they moved to Albany after Tony was born. This is all speculation. I didn’t research it, look it up or nothing. I just asked my wife. Because I am lazy. Thank you and…
Go Dawgs!
I am friends with Tony Jr and Chris Cushenberry (Tony’s sons) They say Tony moved to Albany to live with an Aunt when his dad got a job in Texas. Tony passed away 2 years ago, but always stayed tight with the university and have a big farm in Watkinsville.
Thank you for that. This the best Dawg site around. Because of y’all!
Tony used to sit in front of us, sec 133. He was an associate AD for facilities in the late ‘80s to mid ‘90s. Funny guy. Could put ‘em away. Came with the same crew to every-single-game I remember that I recall attending during that time . His son was on one of the posts (linebacker, with Tardits and one of the Guthrie) a few days ago.
