That was a classic squad in the 40s. One national title and “by today’s criteria,” could have clinched or been awarded two more easily. 1942! The classic!
I claim 1946. We were the only undefeated team in the top 5, plus played a good UNC in the Sugar Bowl. Don’t know why we don’t claim it.
