When/if college football does away with walk-ons, that may be the thing that finally pushes me away.
The 105 limit is a hard cap for 2025 and forward. The SEC is doing 85 scholarship players + 20 walk-ons for 2025. It appears all will be on scholarship in 2026. I’m guessing the next 20 will be guys who would have been PWOs in the past.
It appears the days of the walk-on are over starting in 2026.
We had a good thing there for a while. Greed hasn’t totally ruined it but give them a little more time. The sad part is, they won’t course correct. When they start losing viewers and stadiums aren’t as full they’ll just double down.
Word seems to be when CJ Wiley catches up to the speed of the game, he’s going to a baller.
Notto be that guy…but f it. Those catches in the video are not the kind of reliable technique we need to see. Particularly those falling backwards and waiting for the ball to land in their gut. USE YOUR GD HANDS!!! That shit will creep into bad habits come live action.
