So much for an electrifying option at special teams returns.
Can’t say I’m surprised. Maybe he will transfer to Syracuse and rack up 1000 yards receiving.
To be fair, there’s not many receivers who are out of eligibility, outside of Lovett, as Bell and Smith can technically still return, along with Colbie Young if he opts to. Georgia is bringing in six new receivers, a few of which are expected to see playing time in their first year.
Provided they can block.
And now this, as I type:

I guess I called that one, and, again, not surprised.
Maybe they know Bobo isn’t going anywhere and it’s gonna be more of the same?
Bobo may not be going anywhere but he also may not be OC.
I remember the Senator was fond of Seinfeld quotes so in the voice of Jerry, “That’s a shame”
There’s good attrition and bad attrition. Not sure what will happen but I’m expecting the unexpected.
He was 4th on the depth chart. #5 won’t be a loss either. He couldn’t get into the rotation of the worst WR room at UGA since John Eason coached.
Rashada will be on his 4th school when you include his original signing with Florida. Don’t want to compete in the spring for the job? He’s the poster child for what’s wrong with the transfer portal.
Evans … underwhelming from a kick return standpoint this year. For whatever reason, never saw any meaningful snaps at receiver. Maybe he goes somewhere and sets the world on fire.
I actually thought Evans was a really good KR this year. He just looked lost at receiver and couldn’t block well.
7.59 yards per punt return and muffed a couple – that includes the one long return against TTU and a couple of other 10+ yard returns
17.7 per kickoff return and may have gotten the ball beyond the 25 a few times
Maybe I’m missing something.
Blocking wasn’t great this year and I thought he made the most of it when he could. Had to fair catch a lot due to blocking as well. He’s no Boykin, but he’s an upgrade over past years’ returners. If he gets better blocking he’s going to house a couple.
His blocking as a receiver was less than ideal it seemed.
Until he was injured he was a great returner. I am sad he is leaving. I wish him well.
My take on 5 —- got in Kirbs doghouse bc he wouldn’t fair catch. Our only true playmaker on special teams. Hate to see him go!
Have you looked at his stats?
I’m not at practice everyday but my take, in this day and time, is soon or later not giving kids like Ellis and Tuggle and a few other younger players a chance to play early is gonna bite Kirby in the arss. If I recall, Alabama had two freshman starting against us at DB this year and whipped us. Receivers/skill positions in particular. It’s not like Bobo’s offense was so complicated. Hell, everyone else figured it out.
The portal taketh….and the portal giveth!
Both Branches commit to the G.
Let’s hope Kirbs doesn’t ride them to the bench for “non blocking”……
And now we know why Evans is gone.
