Curt Cignetti, making the most of his brief time with Don Saban.
Kirby was with Saban 11 seasons, so that’s 297 years worth of knowledge.
Kirby’s an old sage, no?

Play a bunch of nobodies during the regular season with a bunch of COVID seniors. Beat Ohio State because Ryan Day is a dummy.
Let’s see if that’s sustainable.
well said.
Nobody else did it. He played by the same rules as everyone else.
I do think they benefit from an easier league schedule, but they won at Oregon, and then later destroyed them in the playoff. Put the worst beating on Bama I’ve seen in a while. I don’t know how sustainable being number 1 is, but I don’t think they’re going away. I think Cignetti is a very good coach.
I didn’t say Cignetti isn’t a good coach. He’s not going to have a roster with an average age older than some NFL teams going forward. That’s my point on sustainability.
The year before his team got run out of the stadium by Notre Dame and Ohio State and didn’t really beat anyone with a pulse.
He is going to get into the playoffs again this year with media lube. But this years team will be an average B10 team at best and not loaded with a bunch of 32 year old 8th year seniors. And he will run into a well-stocked SEC/ACC (UGA, LSU, or Miami etc…) team that steam rolls his azz
I don’t doubt experiencing the Process enlightens one’s ability on running a program but you still need the players and play-calling plus now NIL savvy that Sir Nick avoided.
True leaders don’t have to say things like “google me” because the mantra of “actions speak louder than words” has never been more true… otherwise the lane train would be the greatest leader to walk the earth.
