It’s that time again…the learned council of idiots have chimed in with their rankings after three weeks of college football play.
Notably, Florida is ranked, and Oklahoma State, despite beating Oregon a week ago, remains unranked while Texas A&M remains after losing to *checks notes* Kentucky…at home.
It should also be noted that Indiana managed 38 points against the same WKU that allowed 70 against Georgia a week ago…and Notre Dame slogged their way through an ugly contest with Michigan State. Meanwhile, Darian Mensah has seemingly yet to allow a thrown ball to hit the ground and Miami is a scoring machine. Texas Tech barely escaped Houston, and Houston remained ranked.
And never mind that Ole Miss has now beaten two ranked teams, on in the top 10 last week, something no other team in the country has done (off the top of my head, I think). I’m a Georgia homer, but if that doesn’t spell #1 ranking, I don’t know what does.

Too early to be sorting in order. I’d maybe like to see a pod system until week 8 at least grouped in 6’s. List top 6, no order, then next 6 no order, etc. with 4 pods / 24 teams. Re-group teams by cumulative votes per pod. My top 6 now are Georgia, Ole Miss, Miami, ND, Texas, tOSU.
P.S. I know the Mumme Poll is similar but it still puts teams in a definite order by number of votes received. I just wouldn’t rank them yet that way.

Eh, we still haven’t played anyone. I hope we continue to get overlooked for the shiny new teams. I like this team and think we can make some real noise in the tournament this year.
JP: as I said last week, you might want to say “we’re second in the poll”. Our opponents are No. 2.

My view. If you have made it to 3-0, you get my vote. Sorry Northwestern. If you have a loss, no vote. This will change, but that is my simple formula for now.
I take a similar approach, but they also have to have played a team with a pulse. The Dawgs are the only exception I make to that.
