  1. Yeah Kirby was calling timeout and I don’t care what anybody says to the contrary. I had to go to a funeral yesterday and as a buddy and I were walking in the church he’s showing me screenshots as “proof” that Kirby wasn’t calling timeout. I just grinned and told him I was good with it.

I love Gunner’s toughness and it’s easy to see why the team responds to him the way they do. But damn they are going to get him killed if they don’t start doing a better job of protecting him.

Lost in all the weird things that happened in that game was the BS blindside block call on ‘Stache Jones. That was a makeup for the “do over” (McDonough needs to be fired. I would absolutely rather listen to Beth Mowens. He makes her seem like Keith Jackson by comparison.) is what it seemed like.

    • I thought the same thing about the do-over.

Kirby was calling time out. But the fact that it bugs the shit out of Auburn makes it fine in my book.

The fact of the matter is that the time out or not made zero difference. We wound up missing the field goal anyway.

BTW, SEC Shorts has a hilarious take on it this week.

    • I believe we are a fair-to-middling team. Good but not close to great, with regard to current standards/relative benchmarks. A young, flawed team with some talent deficiencies we’re not accustomed to seeing. Perhaps some coaching shortcomings as well. Ole Miss will be another big tell & I’m not overly optimistic.

Agree on McDonough; a painful listen at best to a twerpy ra ra boy.

BTW, did you go to RF’s funeral in Americus yesterday? Sad deal.

    • And Greg fucking McMichael must get paid by the word. He just will not STFU.

  2. I voted for 2 teams in this week’s poll as I’m still on the roster that can go 16-0 voting protocol – anOSU and da U. The first time (I think) in the long history of the Mumme Poll I haven’t put an SEC team on the ballot.

A lot of Bs and Cs handed out on the report card.

  3. I can’t even begin to guess which teams have the best shot at the CFP, so I’m sticking with my criteria. Undefeated teams get my vote as long as they have at least one good win (Navy is the exception b/c patriotism and an awesome QB). One-loss teams get my vote if they have a couple of solid P4 wins.

  4. jp, can we get a new poll around here similar to ESPN’s Bottom 10? Can we call it the Franklin Poll, or is that too harsh?
