There was interesting face that appeared in Atlanta on Saturday night, celebrating with some Georgia players in the wake of the SEC Championship win.

Yep, that’s Monken. Nothing to see here, I’m sure?

Also, in other news, Gundy is trying to save the sinking ship that is Oklahoma “Grown Man” State. By doing this:

  1. Coach Monken was the best OC I have ever seen but remember the studs he had to work with. I might have been a good OC if I had the talent he had to work with.
    Good to see him at the game. Always a Dawg Hero.

    • You shoulda stopped at “Monken was the best OC I’ve ever seen”. He won two national championships with a 5’10” walk-on QB, who hasn’t done anything of note before or since.

      Monken is a Dawg god in my book. If he came back as OC I have little doubt we’d make a run on natty’s that would make saban envious.

    • As big of an ass that Bobby Petrino is, I’m forever grateful to him for hiring Granthan away while he was under contract.

  4. The best coordinator I saw on the sidelines Saturday was Boom. I don’t think it was coincidence the defense played lights out.

    • No knock on anyone else. Having coach Boom involved elevates the play of the defense. Other than Kirby there’s no one better. IMO there’s a direct link between the slide of defensive play and Boom’s direct involvement in day to day defensive development and results.

  5. Monken was there to give Bobo his magic markers.

    Gundy took a hefty pay cut too. He’ll realize he should have taken the buyout instead once he sees 3rd&Grantham’s results.

    • Now Gundy has to spend the entire off-season boning up on CTG’s hand signals.

    • Grantham’s Towel Guy (TM) has to be the happiest about this – he’s had to have been ridin’ pine for awhile, as “staff assistants” don’t need towel guys, only coordinators do….

    • Grantham is a coach killer. Gundy’s next rant will be I’m a man and I’m unemployed.

  6. I wonder if Boom wants back in (or Schu is getting a promotion elsewhere).

    The Ravens are leading the league in total offense by a wide margin. Monken is the Dumbledore of OCs.
