Let all the Bulldog faithful rally behind the men who now wear the red and black with two words, two simple words which express the sentiments of the entire Bulldog Nation: Auburn Sucks.
The #4 team did beat the #2 (road) and #3 (home) team in the regular season.

That comment isn’t meant to defend the status quo. The 12 team playoff does cheapen value of the regular season (sorry, Josh/DawgStats).
I compare Ohio State to us last year. You win 12 in a row and suffer a late 3-point loss to Alabama. You end up not making the playoff. Would anyone (Bama included) have wanted to face that Georgia team as a 5 or 6 seed with a potentially healthy Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey?

Meaningless is a little much, but there will be fewer, they won’t be as intense, and winning/losing those games may not matter went the dust settles. That much is true.

You could make the same argument about our team in ’21. Historically good defense. Loaded roster full of NFL draft picks. Blew the SEC title game. Should have gone down as the most hurtful loss in Georgia history. Instead, we got in and won it all. “The SEC Title Game is Meaningless!!”

If Baylor doesn’t stop Oklahoma State on 4th and goal to win the Big 12, that’s what may have happened. OSU with 1 loss and a conference championship may have edged out a 1-loss Georgia without a conference championship (similar to 2023).

This is why the BCS was so great and the 4 team was better than 12, I watched games with scenarios in play as to who would get to the title game.
Now, Michigan upsets anOSU or Ole Miss beats UGA and everything is still in play.
Why should I turn on anOSU vs Michigan? It has very little impact on the path of teams I care about.

Yes, the four team playoff made the SECCG less meaningful. Look at Florida and Bama in 2008 & 2009 title games – in a four team playoff the loser gets in.
