The Look of Contempt for NIL

Something tells me that Saban wished the portal and NIL never existed.

My only hope is that College Gameday comes to an end this year when Nick strangles Pat to death.

+++++

Update…just caught this image. As my kids would say…cringe-worthy.

  1. Not sure if that look was priceless or whut satan was thinking is printable…

  2. Man I watched “Game Day” for the first time in about a decade yesterday. I told my brother in law “Saban looks like he wants to throat punch every one of those idiots. Get rid of all of them but him and Rece Davis and you’ve got a decent show.” I bet Saban doesn’t last the season without at least telling McAfee that he’s an idiot. Man that guy is like a drunk car salesman or something.

    • Yeah, I made the mistake of turning it on for a few minutes and saw that redneck take his shirt off for the other 20k rednecks in the crowd. Jeebus.

I agree with you, Mike. Saban and Rece would be watchable. Beyond that, it’s terrible. I was afraid the ND mascot was going to break Corso’s hip dancing around with him.

The only ESPN football show I’ll watch is the SEC Network with the host, and Doering and Watson/Stinchcombe.

    • Yeah, and by the looks of that picture, Saban doesn’t have time for this shit.

  3. Funniest thing I’ve seen in awhile. I hope their contract requires them to eat together and have a team-building vacay a couple of times a year.

  4. Nick is a control freak and doesn’t need the money…just the relevance. Pretty sure he’ll be applying pressure on the producers to move him back home and remote broadcast from there.

  5. Dear Lord, PLEASE strike one of us down. I don’t care which one. Just please, make this end.

  6. I really was struck by just how bad that show is now. Like I said, yesterday was my first time watching it in about ten years. It was awful.

Kirk Herbstriet seems to officially just be an Ohio State apologist. He also seems to have been relegated to the kids table in favor of the more bombastic Pat McAfee, more on him in a bit, and mostly just squeaks his opinions and appears to have no other purpose except for maybe internet troll. He’s a more subdued Danny Kanell in other words.

Desmond Howard. Why is he there? His roll is apparently to serve as a balance to Herbie’s Ohio State homerism as a Michigan guy. Beyond that he doesn’t seem to do much other than bray like a jackass when nobody has made a joke or made one that was only mildly funny.

Why is Lee Corso still allowed on the air?At this point it looks like elder abuse. Does he just refuse to leave and nobody has the guts to tell him it’s over? At one time I enjoyed listening to him. He could be funny and he did real analysis but those days are far in his rear view mirror. When we first turned it on he wasn’t on camera. I thought, “Well at least they finally brought an end to that.” But a couple of segments later there he was, stammering, stuttering, and exerting what was clearly a monumental effort to just express simple thoughts. Somebody needs to tell him his years on the show are appreciated and to go home to Florida and enjoy himself. It really is sad.

And now for Pat McAfee. Who thought this was a good idea? The justification for his presence seems to be ESPN thinks young fans like him but I wonder about that. He seems like a dad who embarrasses his daughter in front of her friends by trying to be cool. He shouts for no apparent reason and often looks like he’s dancing to music nobody else can hear. Maybe he’s schizophrenic. You could surely convince me of that. He looks, sounds, and acts drunk. And no it’s not entertaining.

if you fired all of them and kept Rece Davis and Saban you would have something. But they won’t do that and I wouldnt be surprised if Saban doesn’t come back next season. Just awful, awful television.

    • Exactly so, Mike Cooley. Just a horrible excuse for a CFB show. You are absolutely correct, Corso is really just a victim of elder abuse. He turned 89 a month ago (!). Actually your mention of Danny Kanell makes me wonder if they will bring him on board as an ACC “expert” once Corso can no longer make it onstage. Then they will claim to have “balance” via someone for each of the 4 major conferences ( McAfee: Big 12 courtesy of WVU; Saban for the SEC; and the Big 10 gets two “voices” by virtue of having swallowed up the 4 strongest pieces of the PAC 12).
I have to admit, Saban’s distaste is extremely obvious. Like someone stuck next to the congregation’s foulest fart, or a victim of a cat allergy besieged by a feline that has 20 or 30 other people in a room to hop onto, but picks him.

  7. Nick’s not in charge anymore and there’s not a dang thing he can do about it so he just has to sit there and take it. I bet he goes home after the show, puts on a head set, yells into it that Pat’s an idiot, and then throws it down for good measure.

  8. Nick’s body language says it all. I’m the GOAT and they put me beside this complete and total IDIOT, whose sole purpose is to attract the frat boy crowd…..
