The Lexicon…

We’ve discussed adding “The Lexicon” and “GTP Gift Guide” to this blog… it’s time to do it. So, my question to everyone is this? Do we just “lift and shift” the Senator’s original info and continue to add to it? Or, do we begin our own with a clean slate?

Let’s poll it and go from there? Poll will run for 24 hours.

Final tally:
Yes = 191
No = 2
4

Go Dawgs!

  1. Otis, are you waiting till game day this Saturday to bust out the newly elected banner? Sweet move if that’s the plan.

  2. I figured the results of this poll would be about the opposite of the banner poll… a hair’s breadth vs. miles apart!

    • I figure the people that voted no just don’t understand the question.

  3. As this blog is a homage of sorts to the Best Damn Sports Blog Ever, the Lexicon needs to be enshrined here among the people who appreciate it, and those that will come after. Like a cave drawing.

    I still break out in chuckles whenever I think about “Directional Kicking”.

  4. I’m partial to the Herbstreit Doctrine, only in that it is a living, fluid thing that adapts to whatever situation an Ohio State University finds themselves in.

    • Are “fucknuts” hatched in ohio or crawl out from underneath their razzberry beret…I’ll hang up and don’t GAS…..GO DAWGS!!

  5. yes, copy and paste, with the family’s permission………but the GTP gift guide needs some updating.

    • Was the Senator getting any cash for The Gift Guide?

      He should have gotten paid, he deserved it.

      Check with the family about using it.

      • Reaching out to the Senator’s family hasn’t been very productive. I, personally, have no POC with them or know anything about them at all. Bulldawg Bill tried to reach out to them about the blog when we first kicked off here but, I never heard anything out of it.

        Lifting & shifting both pages with a disclaimer on each of our pages acknowledging where they came from, should suffice.

        • Shift the Lexicon for sure. The gift guide you could pull dawg related gifts if they are still in circulation, but maybe take suggestions/make it your own.

        • Completely agree that lifting and shifting with disclaimers should be fine. That is especially true with the Lexicon – The Senator curated and maintained it, but the sources of the terms came from various places. It’s essentially a public work like a dictionary that newbies to this site will need to translate some of the posts.

  6. Although this isn’t looking like a close vote… if you want your vote to count? Vote only once. I just removed 12 votes submitted by 1 IP address and I deleted 3 other IP addresses for voting twice. If you vote more than once, your vote will be deleted.

  7. So you were right after Dr Dancz? I used to hang at the Lighthouse and there was jazz there once a week. Great times.

  8. I propose renaming it “The Michael B. Lexicon” or similar in honor of the Senator.
