So Much for Clemsoning in Athens

Looks like Kirby isn’t following the Swinney Standard after all.

Zachariah would be an instant upgrade to the WR room in Athens. Zion will likely provide a nice addition to the safety room where it’s anticipated Starks will be leaving early for the NFL.

Zachariah also is a dynamic kick returner, from what I can tell. Now we know why Evans is looking for greener paydays pastures.

  1. Noah Thomas, a 6’6″ WR in the portal formerly of Texas A&M, has been in Athens this weekend as well. The transformation of our WR room has begun… thank goodness.

  2. Finally had a smile about football since the Sugar Bowl. What with the game, the portal & especially Kirby’s dad there hasn’t been much to be thrilled about. Hoping for many more smiles from additions and changes

  3. The Branch WR will be a starter unless other transfers arrive. The Branch DB might get in the dime rotation.

  4. Whoever starts at QB next year just got better. Combine Branch with the incoming talent, and for the first time in forever (if ever), we have multiple WR’s that can strike fear into the opposition. We’ve occasionally had one guy that was a stud WR and some complementary pieces. Now we have multiple studs. Looks like Kirby is adapting quite nicely to the new landscapse. Now if we can get a LT so the QB has time to utilize these new toys.

  5. Didn’t Coach Donte Williams come from USC? Maybe that connection (plus cash) got us there.

From an O line perspective, I would be fine if Stacy went ahead and decided to put his name in there.

  6. Nice pick-up… Can’t get a grasp of why Rashada doesn’t wont to stay around and compete. Leads me to think he was a bit overrated in high school, I don’t know. Or could be that, when Kirby and Bobo are locked in with a starter(Gunner), I’d be pissing in the wind. I want a TRUE DAMN DUAL THREAT QUARTERBACK. Maybe Bobo doesn’t know how to coach one up.
On Starks. Would love to see him back. I’m not sure what happened this year, having to change positions every other week or so may have had something to do with it. However, he lost ground this year.
