Snowball rolling down a mountainside

There are several issues today affecting readers and the team here at GTPR. We are working to identify them and get them cleaned up. Please report oddities you see here. Here’s a couple of things I’ve seen this morning:

  1. Some readers are complaining about not being logged in, I put a WordPress login link at the top of the blog, try that? I think some of you are logged in but, it doesn’t appear to you that you are?
  2. I made a comment on this morning’s Huddle Up.  I got a “loading comment” notice and it wouldn’t go away until I refreshed the page.  then my comment appeared, so just refresh the page instead of backing out and back in
  3. If you know how to clear browser cache and cookies, I recommend you do so.

Please comment with other issues. Thank you.

  1. I couldn’t post using Safari despite being logged in. Things worked for me in Chrome.

  2. No joy in Chrome on desktop. I did see the login button and logged in, but still wouldn’t let me comment.

I’m using the WP reader to post this.

  3. What I keep running into is when I try to post a comment it asks for my email address and screen name. I enter all that and hit comment and it tells me I have to be logged in to leave a comment. The only way I can post anything is to go through that word press link.

  4. Ok, let me be crystal clear, I hate @#$&&***( apple products and all of their permutations. To get my comments/replies to work I had to use the jet pack app and login there first. Don’t know if logins were corrupted during the great kerfuffle, or what, but this has worked for me. Now back to my pc and the blessed stability of windows (god I feel weird saying that)

    • Written from my PC. This happened about a year or so ago on the old site. All of the help information led me to also believe that the WORDPRESS Jetpack plug-in was needed…which ain’t free. After a couple of weeks, the problem using Safari, Apple IOS, etc. just went away. I’m guessing WP did an update and that’s the source of the problem. Don’t know if you can roll back this site on WP for us to test and see.

I’m not a tech guy, but anyone who knows me knows I swear and cuss at this stuff enough to have had to try to fix nearly every crap problem technology throws at me from the user side.

      • LOL…and still getting a “Submitting Comment…” delay that requires a page refresh. Again, I’m pointing the finger at WP.

  5. I like your thinking! If it magically “fixes its self” then WP is the prime culprit

  6. Hot damn, I can’t believe I missed this place going live. Thank you to Peyton for the 05OCT tailgate invite, it’s how I found this place again.

Bummed I missed the Fabris Pool.
Can’t wait to see the game day schedules again – I hope.
Going to take a minute to figure out the WP reader weirdness.

    • Nor I. It works, but only through the reader. Not the most convenient method but I can do it.

      • Yep, just checked again this morning and the reader is the only thing working for me.

  7. Negatory. Logged out on my phone. Closed all tabs. Cleared cache. Logged back into WordPress and I still can’t post a comment using the browser.

  8. Well, according to JP, we need to get our cussin’ numbers up. Sounds like a good time to let off a little steam and maybe that will fix things.
    FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKK

  9. Was able to “test comment” through desktop but still cannot comment via iphone. I seldom ever use my desktop to read GTPR. Not a big commenter, so no biggie. Just appreciate what all of you do.

** my only gripe is the banner at the top of my iphone is #11 from Bama blown up out of scale & there is no glorious Kelee crossing the goal line. Looks like a Bama website!! **
