The SEC tournament schedule is set.
Georgia has one of the easier pathways as the best team in the tournament – Florida, sad to say -is on the other side. Short of Ole Miss, Georgia has shown they can beat the teams in their side…question is, which team will show up for the Tourney?
Regardless, it’s been a pretty remarkable season.

Yeah, I’m not sure why everyone was banging on Mike White last week/week before last. Maybe this is his ceiling/high-water mark, but he has made continuous and steady improvement from the dumpster fire he inherited (seeing Tom Crean on tv Saturday made me want to puke), and has earned the right to try and keep things moving on an upward trajectory for another couple of seasons….
Agreed. The hard part is his replacement is filling the trophy case at Kirby speed.
Just as we’d look at nine wins in football as a disappointing season, I’m sure Rutgers South Campus and UNC fans would view going 22-9 as a letdown. But UGA men’s hoops is the equivalent of USCe football. 22-9 is damn good for us. Let’s celebrate it and hope the current hot streak continues into next month.
Making the conference finals is very possible! But damnit, my gut says one & done!!!
Do like UGA basketball chances/matchups thursday and friday, after that the matchups are less favorable…GO DAWGS!
We’ve had better regular season records in conference play, but I’m very happy with this team, especially with how they finished.
Very skeptical of this team. I haven’t watched them a bunch but what little I’ve seen tells me that they ain’t man enough to make a run.
But the 1983 team hadn’t done much before the postseason either.
The postseason is all about guard play. The big man in the middle is great, but having guys who protect the ball, control the pace, make clutch shots/fts is what makes the difference in March.
Those characteristics, as is typical of UGA BB, have been very, very inconsistent so far.
They seem very streaky, immature and undisciplined to me, but it does appear that they have several different guys who may, or may not, be hot on any given night.
If someone can throw it in from anywhere every single night, they’ve got a chance. But that tends not to be a great formula for tournament success.
