Stay Safe, Scamps

Here’s hoping that all of you are safe and any potential damage is either non-existent or minimal. I’m currently up on watch over the JP clan and I’m sure some of y’all are, too.

We’ll get through this, and just as a reminder, no matter the powers of nature or distractions that may be, the snark of college football is always out there.

And it appears the plane is heading from the west! Maybe Lane is using the cover of a Cat 4 Hurricane to become the next head coach of the Handbags. Pure classic Kiffin.

Hope you are all doing okay. Drop any insights or experiences you have had in the comments or just check in with your Refugee brethren.

Go Dawgs, and go away Helene!

  1. I’m down here in Southwest Georgia and this thing has mostly been hype. We were supposed to get bulldozed by it but it’s just been rainy and the wind picked up but nothing all that unusual.

  2. Well, Otis and I dodged a big ‘ol bullet when Helene moved East of us. A few hours before, it was tracking directly over the top of us. Wormed up would be an understatement. Daylight will tell the tale as far as damage goes, but pretty sure I don’t have any. Valdosta and our southern counties really caught hell. Proud to say didn’t lose power. Hope all our GTP brethren are safe, with none to minimal damage to deal with.

  3. Heard from family and friends in Lowndes County. Not good. Thoughts and prayers to all.

  4. I’m 90 miles east of Athens and we got 80mph winds starting at 04:00 and finally died down about 09:00. I have 3 trees down and a garage door folded in half, no power (gen running!). Most of SC is without power, hopefully won’t last more than a day but who knows, we got hit hard with hellacious wind gusts. Propane cooktop in the kitchen, gen running the fridges. Might need food tomorrow though, kids are both here and safe but that’s not normal, don’t keep a whole lot of food in the house these days….my UGA flag is on the roof of the house, lol.

  5. We just had a ton of rain here in PCB all day yesterday. No real wind though. Glad it’s over and its beautiful outside now.

  6. Lot of rain and wind in Savannah with plenty of trees down. Power is out almost everywhere. Still, praying for the middle part of the state as they got it even worse.

  7. Hahira checking in. Just got cell data back. Definitely the worst storm to come through here that anyone can remember. Valdosta is fubar. Everyone I’ve talked to has been incredibly fortunate when it comes to damage. Trees down everywhere but everyone is ok. Hope y’all are safe
