Morning, Refugees. Just checking in to see how the site experience has been going for you all lately. If you can please leave your thoughts or issues in the comments, it would be appreciated. If you can’t comment here, email me at jpmcdonough1974@gmail.com.
Also, is there any type of content or discussion ideas you’d like to see at the site? It’s definitely the slow season so I’m open to suggestions if you have them.
As always, thanks for being here with us.

The ‘Like’ feature has been wonky for the last few days. Doesn’t seem to work the first attempt and then does, but something is superimposed on top of the Like.
Still have to ‘log in’ each time to reply.
‘Loading’ is what’s on top of Like.
I have to hit Like 2x for it to work, and I show up as Anonymous when I comment. But, at least my comments now show up!

I wish we could see who LIKED any reply.
Better. I can post from my phone now.
Test.
Still posting as Anonymous even after logging into WordPress.
Got it and the like button works for me.
The only minor issue I have is that when viewing from my phone, the text appears smaller than it used to. I have to zoom in to fit the site to my screen so I can actually see it. I noticed it doesn’t fill my screen either on my desktop, but it’s not a problem there because the text is bigger and I can easily read it. Like I said, minor, but it appears to only fill about 70% of either my phone screen or desktop screen. I also have to type in Back2Back for the name or it will post as anonymous. As far as content, I’d be interested to know more about who’s looking good in spring practices and eventually a position by position breakdown of what we’re looking like going into the season. Love this site, thank y’all so much, and please keep up the great work! Also, I’d be happy with one or two new pieces of content a day if you want to space it out more to fill the week. Thank you!!
I noticed the font size too. I turn my phone sideways and make it bigger to read.
Everything works good for me. No double tap on “like” either.
Agree Like button requires a double tab and still does not show who did the Likes.
The Playpen is not serving its intended purpose. First, we’ve been fortunate to avoid trolls and community members abusing the comments section of the regular content. I doubt that’s because the Playpen is a once a week outlet. What is posted is Derek’s blatantly one-sided world view. Nothing insightful, interesting nor inspiring in that. The lame excuse of “then don’t read it” is an affront to the GTPR community by letting one editor be in sole control of this feature. Fire, reform or add new content providers. Otis claimed it was an experiment. Results thus far show it’s just not a compelling feature. We really don’t need political discussion here. No minds are being changed. A non-football post on other topics…culture, travel, world events, beer or bbq is fine. You could put it to a Readers Poll vote.
I have to agree on the Playpen. I’d rather have a discussion on another topic than politics. I get enough of that every day, and it’s depressing enough.
As for the site, it works well enough for me, but still a little wonky. I never remain logged in. I have to enter my name and email each time (and yes, I click the “remember me” button), but it will take my posts. However, it just says “submitting” until I refresh the screen. Probably a browser issue on my end (using Edge) but it’s not enough to keep me from posting here.
For the off season, football speculation is always nice, and I’d say continue to follow any and all UGA sports. I’ve enjoyed the basketball posts, and would enjoy baseball posts as well. Or anything else. I’m a big history nerd so anything from our gloried past (I mean going back to Herty Field even) is always fun for me.
Its an interesting speculation but thats all it is. History and experience being the opposite of that speculation, it appears to me to be sending the right message: no one is getting banned and no one is hijacking posts with their bullshit.
If the complaint is what I really suspect it is and that it is the editorial choices, send in an idea on the playpen. Ill assure you I will see it and it will be duly considered and if you want it, you’ll get the credit for the suggestion. That applies to everyone.
Trying to come up with weekly topics ain’t easy. Plus being constantly attacked and threatened gets exhausting. The content of those types posts in my mind simply underscores the unreliability of the speculation that the forum lacks usefulness.
We have had far less commenter management issues around here than the Senator had to deal with, so far. I’d like to keep it that way. With all of the slings and arrows coming my way, I think it contributes to leaving the real content contributor’s spaces free of bullshit. At least so far that has largely been the case.
I dunno, maybe post something sports related that eventually evolves into light hearted debate. Here is a recent example : “West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez bans TikTok dancing.”
Always looking for an interesting overlap between current events and football. I haven’t found one that made the week’s cut yet. Feel free to send any links. If dc ever tackled the antitrust issues in college football, it would be a lot of fun. Don’t think thats coming anytime soon.
Tis and experience. Seems to work better on my end. Gracias!

I wasn’t able to comment any for the last couple months. But if this goes through, all is well I guess. If not, then no-one will see this anyway.
Meant to say last couple weeks. Not months. When the new site hit, I was able to comment and “Like” fine. Then a couple weeks of not being able to comment. Looks like I am back to being able to comment after the last couple weeks of not being able to.
TEST…
Everything is working fine for me.
oh, and it GAME DAY! Get up and get loud, and let’s beat those fake Washington “bulldogs”.
Would love to see basketball and baseball content in the football offseason. Understand football season is just for football. But, offseason, when those teams are actually doing decent, it is fun to follow those teams.
Agree, doesn’t have to be in-depth. Win loss in each sport weekly, we can endeavor more on our own. If any of the site runners have another UGA team they follow closely their insight would be interesting. Tyler over at glory UGA Podcast has a passion for tennis and it has led me to follow closer.
Close enough for government work.
For some unknown reason I have to come in through the reader again. I guess the difference is that I’m always logged in through the reader. If I try to post by coming in through the front door I have to log in each time. It’s just easier to go through the reader. I’m fine with it, though. Just commenting because you asked. Agree about the like button that others have noted. It works, but….not like it used to. That said, I wouldn’t want to lose what’s otherwise working if fixing the like button caused a problem.
Since we don’t know what Will happen with the schedule after next year. I think a fun post would be to post your “dream” regular season schedule.
I’m just happy the GTP site is still here! I don’t do internet much, but I look here everyday, and it’s the only place I ever signed up to comment. Little issues with the computer are no big deal. Thanks for all the effort.
We are definitely in the annual dolddrums of college football with nothing much to talk about. The Senator often filled this space with news on NCAA lawsuits, etc. but there isn’t as much of that to cover these days IMO since we went full blown pay for play. Injury reports from spring practice should be coming in soon, and that always is a hot topic. Here are other suggestions:
-where elsewhere does everyone get their CFB fix? I personally like the Unnecessary Roughness podcast from Barstool.
-any news of recruiting is always welcome in my book since I don’t follow the pay sites like 24/7. The Senator admitted to avoiding recruiting news though.
– I never get tired of reading about good places to eat or drink in conjunction with gameday. Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, JAX.. let’s hear it all again.
Thanks for keeping the community going.
I can comment but I always have to sign in on the website. Jetpack does remember my name.
Since I started using the Jetpack app I haven’t had any problems.
Agree on the Playoen. The Senator shit canned it for good reason. It’s nothing but Derek indulging himself and I don’t see why that’s needed. I drop in the re and mock the whole thing because that’s about what it’s good for. Blew my mind when Derek posted that he knew the Senator really didn’t want to get rid of the playpen. He did get rid of it so he must have wanted to.
As for discussion topics it can be stuff like recalling a favorite game you attended or something involving other fan bases. Somebody here tokd a story once about a run in he had with some South Carolina fans that was one of the best things I ever read here. Just stuff like that to get people talking.
Totally agree about ditching Playpen. It adds zero value to this site. I refuse to read it anymore. Anyone who claims the Senator didn’t want to end it is full of it. It was a failed experiment then and now.
Jet Pack worked for me until one day it didn’t. I was directed to a pay section. Since that day every device I own gets the same result. Doesn’t matter the device or Android, IOS, Safari or Chrome. They know it’s me so it’s pay or not allowed.
Seems to be working pretty well so far.
Just testing the front door. If this works it just means I have to use my desk top as opposed to the tablet.
Seems to be working fine. I did notice I had to click “like” twice. And noticed one time it said loading. But have no problem commenting.
Still required to add email address and name for every single comment. Most comments get in about 10% still disappearing using Word Press.
Seems to be alright but I have to get out and get back in to see my comment. Weird but doable.
Anonymous = 69Dawg I guess I needed to sign in first
SOS for me. Can only comment without logging in every time on Jetpack, can only like on webpage. Really annoying.
Also today the page is indented where a grey bar is on the right side.
I too have to log in for each reply or it shows as “Anonymous”. All other features seem to be working, except for showing which posters are “likes” when you mouse over.
As for the Playpen, does Derek have pictures of you and some farm animals? Blackmail is the only reason I can think of to allow the return of this odious feature. The Senator mercifully excised it from his original blog and I would strongly advise doing the same here. We don’t need a weekly reminder of Derek’s political views.
