Over, Under

What you think about this?

”He might be ones of the best backs in the country” while talking about the O Line problems is some heavy lifting, To quote Derek from the other day, loosely, “we don’t know anything about this team”.

We’ll know soon, won’t we?

  1. I just know that Kirby is going to get the most out of what he’s has. We always recruit plenty of talent and if Coach Smart gets at least equal heart out of them it’s going to be good, maybe great. There’s probably more talent on paper somewhere else, but until we see it play out on the field, it’s all speculative. No team on the schedule is overly intimidating, especially in our house. If we slip up once or twice, we’re still in the playoffs, and by then, barring injuries of course, we should be as good as anyone in the country, especially since our youthful exuberance won’t be as worried about moving on to the NFL and should be still willing to lay on the line for their teammates. Okay, I’m ready to start tailgating now!

  2. Without spending time watching the video:

    — If we’re that young in the secondary we’re gonna get burned a few times before they get some experience. That’s what young secondaries do.
    — I assume the second quote is a backhanded compliment to Matt Luke, not blaming the guy who’s not here anymore. I’m no X and O guy but I remember our last stint with Stacy Searels. He came in with a big reputation and turned out to be more style than substance. Hope I’m wrong.

    • Me too Hogbody, and I was happy to see him move on. Look at the video posted by JP the other day on the 2013 LSU game. The OL mauled the D-lineman. Gapping holes by big athletic linemen, Coached by Will Friend.
Haven’t seen any of that with Searles, now or in the past.

    • CSS is an above average X’s and O’s guy. However, he has got to be one of the worst we have had in as long as I can remember in getting all 5 OL on the same page for every play. The inconsistency of play can be seen in multiple games. People will point to injuries as the culprit and while true, they don’t explain the inconsistency of the players on the field.

  3. Loads of turnover with Bobo and Searels…. I’m not overly optimistic.
