So much for avoiding honey-dos on the off-week! On to the results:

As for the season:

Folks, the biggest weekend in the history of sports is upon us. Throw in the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black* on top of that, and a long day awaits us this Saturday. Girdeth thy loins.
Picks up sometime Monday per usual.
N.B. : THERE IS A FRIDAY GAME THIS WEEK
Your humble commish,
Dawglicious
*The most fun I ever had shooting 106. That beast could hold a US Open with one week’s notice.

Did you sleep in your car in the club parking lot to get a tee time at Beth Page? I hear that is about the only way to get one for an average hacker like me.
It was back in 2018, I had a work trip scheduled to NYC and back then (and maybe now, but I haven’t looked since then) non-residents could try to book a tee time online at the stroke of midnight one week prior to the day you wanted to try to play. I got a tee time, but it was around 4:30 in the afternoon, meaning I wouldn’t finish before dark. I booked my flight to get to the course before lunchtime, and hung out. About 1:30, the starter told me he could pair me up as someone called in to drop theirs. Went off about 2:45, mandatory walk, got paired with a local who told me where to aim (lots of blind shots) and came up 18 in the dark. Brutal fun day!
If I may ask, what’s your handicap? Curious if you’re a 19 that shot a 106, or a 5 that shot a 106. I’ve heard it’s a monster, but I’d love to play it sometime.
I was an 18 handicap, shot 106. Was fighting a hook at the time and you can’t play out of the rough and gorse. Greens were slicker than owl $hit.
