I saw a good talking point on X about the most annoying athlete you’ve ever known and thought we could turn it into a post.

    On the coaching front, is Junior going to pass Corch for being the peak jackass? His and LSU’s antics are going to rip the SEC apart. I wonder if someone will ask Dabo in his game week presser if Clemson is considering withdrawing from the game on Saturday if LSU has former NFL players on the roster to be released on Friday? I also wonder if a member of the esteemed Louisiana media will dare ask the Kiffin Kancer what players are scheduled to be cut to get to the 105 limit if this goes through.

    I’m guessing in BR they will say before Kiffin even takes the podium that no questions on the court proceedings and LSU’s role in initiation of those proceedings or the inclusion of the SEC in the action.

  11. It’s interesting to me that the sports world just seemed to forget Mr. Manning waving his dongle around at a female reporter when he was at UT. I’m exaggerating of course, but something happened and it got buried pretty quickly without an apology. But hey, he’s great in commercials, right?

  12. Regarding Pete Rose. I saw him at in the minors. One time in the majors, he was playing Right Field. The ball was hit to Center field. The fielder went up to catch it against the fence. The ball bounced out of the glove toward tge field and Rose was there to catch it. When asked why he was there, he said” Nothing was happening in right field. ”
    One hell of a ball player

    • Pete may have been a prick but I really liked the way he played. After receiving ball 4, he always sprinted to first. I really believe he would have played for free.

    • Pete Rose between the lines is what you wish every player with raw talent would be … Charlie Hustle. I never met Rose, but the reputation outside the lines seemed to be completely different.

      I wore 14 whenever I could in any sport I played because I idolized him as a kid.

          Cobb’s lifetime batting average was at or near .406.

          He holds the record for stealing home and always will.

            Cobb was not a jerk of a person. Nearly all of Al Stump’s writing has been discredited. It’s shallow-minded pseudo-academics like you that keep perpetuating this insult.

            And I just find it funny you think anyone was arguing Cobb being among the best all time. He was the first HoF inductee. Did you actually need to research whether or not he’s one of the best handful of players ever?? You must not be from Georgia. Which checks out with your sidewalk fan antics

    • Paid Pete $100 to sign a baseball & sit and talk while in Vegas 10+ years ago. He was warm & welcoming. I too idolized him as a kid. My grandfather loved his hustle and took every chance to tell me if I played sports, play like Pete Rose! HOF’er!!! Best ever.

  14. Now matter how much you despise those players, it’s their rectal deposit fanatic followers that apply the most suction. I’ve only once had to correct an opposing fan in Athens for making physical contact with me. A woman wearing a So Car hat with a built in ponytail took offense to my mistaking her for Steve Tanneyhill and decided to nag her husband into making an incredibly and poorly thought out decision. Ironically, my friends’ wives sanctioned my decision and wondered if me staying sober and being designated driver is worse for the community than “soothing my nerves” with multiple Jolt & Jim Beams before a game, lol.

    • Its really the best policy:

      Nothing can ratchet the temperature up quicker than when those with protected status become involved in the affray.

  17. To me it’s Tebow. Taneyhill was annoying at the time but he aged well. The mullet and the antics are a snapshot of a time before everybody was too cool for school. Mullets are back but they’re “ironic” now. No irony with Taneyhill. Peyton was annoying and of course he was a rich boy son of an NFL qb but he was and is a good Southerner. Something about Tebow’s Yankee ass along with being a gator, the tears every time he didn’t get his way, the fawning of the media acting like if they could out some salt and pepper on him they would eat him, it’s Tebow by a mile to me.

    • It was what others did/said about Tebow that annoyed me more than anything he did himself.

      Its not Tebow’s fault that he could stop a game after a one yard game but AJ gets flagged for looking in the crowd after a (what should have been) a game winning catch.

      Its not Tebows fault that some asshat thought he was worthy of a first round pick.

      Its not Tebow’s fault that Meyer have him that label.

      Did Tebow reveal the sucktitude of lots of people? Sure, but that’s not anything we shouldn’t have already known.

      I haven’t seen anything that suggests that he wasn’t what he purported to be. Authenticity and integrity are rare in this world. I won’t shit on the guy because of others.

      I’ll shit on them.

  22. $Cam Newton. Only because it was the right Reverend Cecil Newton’s boy and Auburn who I think really started us down the path we’re on. Blatantly take the money, then deny & sue, and the NCAA will back down.

    • It was Vince Dooley & Co suing the NCAA that started this shit show of chasing the Almighty Television Dollar.
