This example of frenzied outrage is hilarious. A couple of Barner homers are tres unhappy that Kirby disrespected them by claiming not to know who ordered the Code Red, errrr, that Auburn would be this year’s homecoming opponent. Let us count the ways.
- They were openly outraged of “Kirby’s dismissive attitude” of this brilliant question. Let me help you, Lester and Earl: it was a stupid question. You might as well have asked him what his favorite shade of nail polish was. That’s how relevant their question was to 2024 UGA football.
- They were outraged that Kirby said he didn’t know (or seem to care) who made the decision to select homecoming weekend. Kirby should have said “Why would I know?” It has zero to do with winning. If we know anything about Kirby, no detail is too small for him to notice…if it affects winning games. Why would Kirby care when homecoming is? Should he worry that his team won’t take their oldest rival seriously now? Should he worry that an Auburn program that lost 15 of the last 18 (with 2 of the wins being end of game flukes?) to us is NOW GOING TO BE EXTRA MOTIVATED? Come on, fellas. Do you think Kirby has anything else to worry about? Like recruiting, roster management, NIL, recruiting, staff management, facilities management, recruiting, the portal, player discipline, donor PR, little things like game planning and prep, and last but not least, recruiting. Homecoming is 5000+on his punch list, if it’s even on there.
- They were outraged at THE DISRESPECT BEING SHOWN TO AUBURN BY THIS MOVE, JUST LIKE NICK SABAN, WHO KIRBY USED TO WORK FOR, WOULD HAVE DONE! Honestly, Tech and Vandy have better winning percentages against us than AU since 2005. Do they think we need the motivational boost of the alumni band and cheerleaders to handle them? You want to make yourself a less attractive home coming opponent, and protect your feelings from that mean old Kirby? Try being worth a damn.
They seem to think Kirby spends all his time worrying about them. To the extent he does, it’s like he thinks about every single team on the schedule: what helps us beat them? Sure, he might sit around thinking “As SunTzu says in The Art of War, if your enemy is of choleric temper, seek to enrage him.” But I doubt even a detail oriented dude like Kirby is that OCD. It would be fine with me if he was, but I think he’s more focused on the actual game strategy.
As for me and my house, we say FTMF. Be patient, Barners. Your ass whuppin’ is on the way; you’ll get it as soon as possible. So let it be written. So let it be done. Thus endeth the lesson.
Auburn sucks.
i don’t care for Auburn.
The typical logic is that you schedule a game that’s at least interesting (conference game) but against an opponent that you have a high percentage chance that you’ll beat. Used to be Kentucky or Vanderbilt. The fact that it’s now Auburn is less of an indictment on Kirby’s viewpoint; rather, is more of a testament to Auburn fully realizing their lousy, suck-ass self. You can thank Gus and his stupid comments in 2017 about beating the Dawg crap out of us. All glory is fleeting, assholes, and it fled quickly, didn’t it? FTMFs.
Those ideas used from the notable author, Shits You, from the famous crayon instilled scribblings “Art of the Fart”, plus the excellent “If I shit my pants, will my cousin care”, once a cesspool, always a cesspool is the barner credo, no matter what the yella wood bagman says, scam’s father even told the barners, “no money is never enough money”, if you can’t cause a tree death by the fart, suffocate them with perfectly good T.P., there exists nothing on the plains that make a tigle thing happier than a low cesspool at high tide, they are always first in line at the pasture land to preview date nights youngest four legged squeeze…#AUBURN SUCKS!!
First of all, they’re probably right that Kirby knows who chose Auburn to be Homecoming week. That said, why would he voluntarily throw someone on his staff under the bus? Especially to a blowhard hack from the Plains? Second, they’re also right that there are 3 better games to have Homecoming on the schedule: Miss State, UMass and Tech. Tech is Thanksgiving week and UMass is the Saturday prior, so arguably those weeks could be logistically difficult, but it would also bring more fans to the game when students are gone. And Miss State is the week after Auburn. I don’t recall a Homecoming game as early as Oct. 5 in my lifetime. But lastly, and most importantly as 81 noted, who cares? Only bored, petty content-starved inbreds from Auburn.
HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT US AND AND OUR CRAPPY PROGRAM EVEN THOUGH WE INVENTED CHEATING AND SOLD OUR SOLES BECAUSE WE HIRED A HOOKER BAITING HYPOCRITE!
HOW DARE YOU, SIR! WE DEMAND RESPECT!
**SOLD OUR ‘SOULS”
(but I bet a fair amount of Barner coeds sell feet pics online for chewing tobacco money)
note to self: buy truck to like driving in
addendum: HOES!!!!!
I have the misfortune of living in Alabama. Good friend of mine who is a Barn alum/fan scheduled his daughter’s (also an AU grad) wedding on the day of the SEC championship game. I do not want to hear any complaints from the Barn crowd that have anything to do with scheduling until we get our lost home game back and the game is moved back to October where it belongs.
Point blank We are Georgia and we do not give a shit about auburn. Your program is irrelevant to us. May put more time and effort into your program and less about what respect your program is deserving of.
Leste and Earl would worry a lot less about what Kirby thinks of Auburn if they knew how seldom he did it.
I mean, would Auburn even have a student body if it weren’t for all the Atlanta kids that couldn’t get into UGA? Auburn being the Homecoming game guarantees they get to see their team play between the hedges.
I get it’s hard to get into UGA, now; but Auburn isn’t the answer academically or socially. Being from Tifton, I get all the contrarian kids wanting to got to Auburn, Tech or Florida St back in the day but with the HOPE Scholarship(or in my case GI Bill) if I loved Georgia growing up and couldn’t get in, I’d be at Southern (because I love Erk) or a Jr College (ABAC in my case) and just transfer in to UGA no sweat and celebrate my college being paid for by the lottery/Veterans Administration. I don’t have kids, so am I that wrong in my theory about going to UGA nowadays?
Whether Kirby knows or doesn’t know, was involved or wasn’t involved in AU being the homecoming patsy, his response is the best. Indifference burns the hottest. The Barners can whine about their fe-fees all day long, but at the end of the day the Dawgs will be all business. Burn the boats and show no mercy!
