I See Dead People

In case you missed it, both Tech and Auburn won last night. I can’t say I watched much of the Auburn game as I did Texh, but one thing is certain: if they don’t have a decent QB2, both teams are going to struggle to make it through the season successfully.

And

Despite having a wealth of talent at receiver for Jackson Arnold, he did relatively little with his arm and did more with his legs. Ditto Haynes King. While I respect King more than I like to admit, he was having to pull himself off the mat quite a bit by game’s end and I don’t see how he’ll make it through the season without a major injury. Can’t help but think what would happen to Gunner if Faulkner were the OC as many here have opined that they’d like to see. Colorado was, at best, a functional team, but Kaidon Salter looked incompetent, at best, and it was clear he wasn’t playing for Liberty anymore. Using the portal to wholesale make a team clearly isn’t working for Coach Amazon Prime and their offensive line might as well have been five strategically placed tackling dummies, so there’s that.

I’m sure they’ll retire Salter’s number by game 2. I keed, I keed.

Anyway, more hate watching is on the agenda today, starting at noon. Can’t wait to see the waters part and watch Archduke Manning walk on water today.

Enjoy the slate of games, scamps. Can’t wait to chat in the gameday post.

  1. QB’s get hurt in the pocket as well. The last two qb injuries at georgia I can think of, lost for significant time, were hit on their throwing arm while in the pocket.

QB’s who can use their legs are hard to defend, period. Especially in today’s “tackling optional” era of defensive football.

Wouldn’t mind having a reserve Greg Blue/Thomas Davis for those two games….

They would affect some changes in the minds, or brains, of those two.

  2. Hate to say gnats would have been better but for those 3 early turnovers but HK is their only offense. Buffs had a running game going then abandoned it when they found a DB to pick on but then the D choked. I see 5 or 6 wins for them and health issues for Prime at the end of the season. He was only in it to coach his kids. Tech coach is the loud grunting steroid chugging power lifter at the gym who thinks he’s all badass. Auburn not great but got their W so fans making CFP reservations already.

  3. I was actively pulling for Baylor (live in TX and have a lot of Baylor friends) but could not make myself want either team to win GT VS Colorado. I kept wishing there was some way for them both to lose.

  4. If King keeps running like he did in game one he will either be out for the season or punch drunk. Every team will just put a LB spy on him and kill him if he runs or pitches out. Got to admire a kid who is taking his team on his back and getting killed in the process.

  5. Haynes King is going to end up getting decapitated by some opportunistic linebacker or safety. I look forward to the day for sick reasons… FTMF.
