Good morning. So, the College Football Playoff is now up to 4 12 14 teams. But, if any of you think ESPN is satisfied with that… you are sadly mistaken. They are salivating at the idea of putting 64 teams in the football tournament. So much so, that they are gaming out the full 64 team playoff on their site. Writer Chris Low began the “tournament” on Monday, pretending out the first 2 rounds. He crowned a champion in Wednesday‘s article. Go read both articles and come back here and tell us what you think. We’ll wait…
David Hale has typed out some words on the ongoing Clemson/FSU/ACC legal debacle. Clemson’s position is:
In short, Clemson is suggesting that a grant of rights is unenforceable and illegal, a claim that could potentially have massive ripple effects throughout the college sports landscape if a judge agreed. But given the rapidly changing landscape of college sports, Clemson argues prohibiting free movement among schools could be a potential death sentence for its program.
I don’t see “a potential death sentence for its program” as a problem myself. Comme-ci comme-ça. And, on Wednesday, the ACC filed a countersuit, a hearing on that is scheduled for today. I don’t have enough legal knowledge to fill a thimble so, my only opinion on this is that I hope Clemson, FSU and the ACC all come away from this feeling bitter and disappointed. In other words, I hope they all lose.
Go Dawgs!
