  1. Dawgs win. Holy Moses. Can I stomach the replay when Otis posts it on the YouTubes? We’ll see, cuz there’s no way I’m not watching that shit.

    • ” I gave up, you did too. We were out of it. Gone. Miracle.”….GO DAWGS!!

  2. “We were gone. We were out of it and gone. I knew it. You did too. Miracle.”

  3. Sometimes you have to win ugly, and that one was mangy, covered in warts, and fleas, coyote ugly.

  4. 2 Things I don’t get….(1) Why did we not kick the FG in the 1st half after we couldn’t get the 1st down on our only good drive of the 1st half? It would have been 3-3 and it wasn’t like we were “on our game” in the 1st half….and even more confusing…(2) Why did we go for 2 after our 1st TD? Made NO sense and ended up causing the 8 OTs as we would have won 28-27 in regulation with the extra point.

    • 2 enormous coaching blunders by Kirby. Calling the timeout during their drive right before the half when they had burned all 3 was stupid, too.

Tonight was not Kirby’s nor the program’s finest hour.

We were lucky tonight. Texas will beat us senseless if we play like that on Saturday.

      • You are right. Fortunately, Kirby seemed to get better as the game went on. The defense played a lot better in the 2d half and Kirby seemed to call the D much more aggressively after King got the shit knocked out of him by Dan Jackson.

      • I respectfully disagree. Kirby did a great job leading his men. He kept the team focused and playing their hardest after going down by 3 scores.
THAT is great coaching. Had Kirby not accomplished that it would not have made a damn bit of difference if we kicked a PAT after our first TD.

        • I didn’t say he didn’t keep them in the game. I said those decisions potentially lost the game. I highlighted 3 sideline decisions that could have cost us the game.

He is a masterful at leadership. I’m sure this team’s consistent inconsistency is driving him crazy.

Those decisions were mistakes in tactics … even he said the chart said “go for 2.” I have never seen another coach do that in my years of watching football.

          • You wrote that last night “was not Kirby’s … finest hour.” It was one of his “finest hour(s)” to be able to win that game despite the problems.

          • He caused the scoreboard problem with his decision making.

I’m sorry, but that performance was awful. We’ll have to agree to disagree. I’m not sure what we did over the last 2 weeks to prepare for last night especially on defense. For a head coach who is supposed to be the current best defensive mind in the college game, it was not one of his best performances.

            Of course, YMMV.

    • The response to your number 2 is statistical analysis. The short explanation is that there are higher odds of winning when going for 2 after a TD when the margin before the conversion is 5 points or 11 points.
Remember when coaches has an actual chart on the sidelines saying when to go for 2 or to kick the PAT?
The decision was not a hunch.

      • Just because there was analysis involved doesn’t mean it’s good analysis. And I say that as someone that has used statistical analysis and probability in my work for years.

        • I am not sure if you mean the statistics behind the chart are bad, or if you are criticizing following the chart’s recommendations.
My point was simply that there was a reason Smart went for 2 and it wasn’t just some hunch.
If you hate the analytics or hate the decision, or both, that is fine with me. Just don’t claim Smart didn’t have a reason for the decision.

      • I have never seen another coach do that. 17-8 is slightly more than 17-7. It’s still 2 scores and it was early in the 3rd quarter. It was not the time to chase points.

        • I understand you don’t care for the fucking chart. The issue raised by 93Dawg was whether there was any “sense” supporting the decision. I simply pointed out that there is an analysis in the coaching community supporting it. I did not ask him or you to fucking agree with playing those fucking odds at that fucking time or not.

  5. How bout those mutual fuckin Dawgs.

    8 in a row.

    1 more boys.

Complaints are for tomorrow. For today:

    ITS GREAT
    TO BE
    A GEORGIA BULLDOG

  6. We would be so awesome if we could play a FULL 4 quarters! My blood pressure and heart can’t take these 2nd half comebacks!

  7. The people filing out in the 4th quarter regretted it I am sure. They got out the gate and the crowd roared and the fireworks went off. It was an exciting ending. Now to drive 2 hours home.

  8. I know no one will believe the next sentence. I had confidence all throughout the game. At halftime I told the person I was with that I rember being down 20-0 in 1978 and coming back to beat Tech and being down 18-0 at its place in 2013 and winning and being down 17 in the Rose Bowl and winning. Those are just the games I remembered off the top of my head in which we showed we could come back and win.
I always thought we could win. That is a benefit of being old; it gives you perspective.
