Well, well, well. I guess all those new shiny toys at receiver wasn’t enough to bring Carson back for another year.

Personally, I think he’s headed back home to Florida and closer to his Cavinder boo thing. tOSU and Oregon would be intriguing, but something tells me Miami has the higher need than the others. Home is where the heart is, I suppose.
Or maybe we’re not the most hospitable fan base for a player when they’re struggling.
Sounds to like he’s in the middle of the ring. To the highest bidder?
To whoever can improve his draft stock. That obviously aint us.
Obvious. We suck. At literally everything. Ask Ladd about us turning a cant miss HS prospect into someone nobody wants.
I was more surprised when he was entering the draft will recovering from an injury likely not able to work out. Further thought he made be in college another year when he was throwing INTs. Wish him well but, but my focus will be on who is in Athens.
I also would not be that surprised to see him back in Athens next year.
When is he expected to be taking snaps in practice after the surgery?
He could be quite the predicament. Miami needs a QB ready to go entering camp with their Heisman candidate off to the NFL. If Beck is not ready for camp, he might be best to take a medical red shirt if possible and play in ’26.
I wish him well wherever he lands. He needs to heal and I hope he does well. Our fan base has not been the most supportive when our QB struggles.
We have a small but vocal to the point of obnoxious segment of the fan base.
Going back to Murray and even Stafford.
Given he was throwing to the leaders in dropped passes , OLine giving up the highest sack rates under CKS era along with a well below average rushing game. He took way too much blame. Yeah Lambo’s make great targets for losers. The young man earned that NIL. Had Brock and Ladd not been hobbled we win the 2023 SECCG and probably the NC. I wish him well.
Every fan base has them.
Teams that are winning have the worst ones sadly. The bandwagoneers are the worst.
Did the fans boo Beck from the stands this year or give him grief on social media? If so I must have missed it. I think a few were asking what was wrong with him for that spell where he was throwing three picks a game, but I don’t recall his house getting egged or anything.
There was a pretty strong, and wrong, sentiment that his getting hurt was a net plus. That probably stung…assuming any of them waste the time to notice what fans have to say.
Maybe the injury had him falling to the second or even third round with no pro day tryouts. But some still had him in the first round. Has Kirby told him we’re sticking with manball? Surely not with all the new talent. Stats? You want stats!?
Much like money, hot blonde girlfriends are undefeated. Wish him nothing but the best (unless he’s playing us).
Give me an army of hot blondes and I’ll take North Korea.
Why would you want it?
For the army of blondes.
No hate here. Not terribly different from Jalen Hurts leaving Alabama. Georgia could run into serious QB depth chart concerns if an unexpected returnee gives younger guys wandering eyes. Probably an amicable ending for all parties with a guy who was a loyal Dawg for 5 full seasons and has a degree from the University of Georgia. He is an alum just like many of us. He started amidst the arrival of a recovering JT Daniels, to almost taking over after Daniels was injured again, to a backup in the shadows on 2 Natties. Pretty loyal if you ask me.
I know the sausage making for tomorrow should always come second to winning games today, but there’s inherently no guarantee on any player. But if you don’t move, mold and process sausage THROUGH the system you could find yourself, a few years down the road, with less sausage to make.
Was mr. hurts healthy upon his arrival at okla…
This is the way I feel. Carson is a DGD for getting his degree and playing 2 pretty darn good years for us. I really don’t feel Kirby wanted to pay whatever it was going to take for him to return. Maybe both sides thought a change of scenery would be best.
I just wonder what his market value is if he isn’t available in the spring. New program? New offense? One year? Seems risky unless you’re some coach/program with nothing to lose and no better prospects.
I thought his best option was the draft, get on a team, put on a ball cap and learn.
Maybe he’s just checking out all options while he can. Doesn’t hurt to know what’s out there.
I think partly he is just checking to see what’s out there and a good enough offer will convince him. I agree it’s risky for the new team, new offense, one year situation. But if you’re a team without an experienced QB then who better than a talented two year starter to give the keys of the offense. That’s really not much risk with the possibility of a big reward.
Would he go to a place like Oklahoma St or Houston (now Big 12) ? I have zero interest in googling their QB situations but they both sucked big time this year even compared to their mediocre to occasionally scrappy nature.
All these are interesting, thoughtful takes, has CKS received some important, inside info, concerning these types of injuries and rehab time (looking at you Dr. Ron Courson, plus others), blonde gurlfriends and love in the air is fun times for all, chicks dig the long ball and if you are BMOC, they are in line and waiting…sumthin is amiss here…the “U” had a running game and a couple of wideouts, medium oline play and no friggin defense this year, plus crappy special teams…GO DAWGS!!
Wideouts and defense are no match against that blonde hair.
Beck will be throwing at full go in June. This is another example of how most of the players are just mercenaries.
Highly doubt that timeline.
It was reported he would start throwing in April. My son’s ramp up was 3 months for his elbow surgery.
Was he full strength after 3 months? That would be very impressive.
Depending on what Miami pays him, it could be a smart move. Rehab his arm and career in Miami with his boo, then off to the pros.
I wonder how he and Bobo got along? I wonder if that was part of the problem on offense this year?
I have nothing bad to say about him. He stuck around for two years after thinking he was going to start over Stetson.
I think Beck is looking forward to throwing against those tasty ACC defenses.
No problem guys. I’m sure Bobo has a few high school or portal 5 star QB’s lined up for next year. Right?
Does he need a five star to throw bubble screens?
Says a lot about our program. Yeah he has a girlfriend in Miami. He also knows he can improve his draft stock there. Thanks Bobo.
Bobo doesnt get those. We only get whats left over after Texas, USC, Ohio State.
Rashada did NOT transfer to Georgia while Bobo was OC or he wasn’t a 5 star or something…. I just know you have to be right and that you’ve done your research.
I guess you did and found out he wasn’t 1,2,3 at his position or wasn’t a five star?
Or is it because someone said he was a five star and he’s leaving us like the other one we had?
I knew you were right. Just had to re-define “those” first.
Sad to see the 2 wr’s from USC and A&M choose to come here although they probably don’t qualify as “those” either. Because we can’t get “those.”
I mean its not like we’re winning any championship trophies at Georgia with Bobo at OC. Unlike Bobo, Monken always got us to Atlanta and out with a W, amirite? Monken was so good that he didn’t have to rely on a former walk-on qb because so many stud qbs beat our door down.
I mean in 2021 we had ____ show up out of the portal and then in 2022 we had ____ and ____ and ___ come in and turned away _____ because Monken. But for that we’d have had to roll with Bennett.
Sad what things have come to.
Does Bobo have incriminating pictures on you? I’m just asking because criticism of him seems to trigger you.
Tlk, The singular thing that triggers me is stupid bullshit. I don’t care who or what you are criticizing, or fellating for that matter, just try and stick to the objective facts as we all know them to be. If what you have are lazy, fact-free opinions and narratives with little to no connection to the real world, especially on matters well outside of your own expertise or possible scope of knowledge, there exists a slight risk of annoyance. Nothing more annoying to me than self-satisfied blathering of complete and total nonsense. While I’m sure its fun for some to get themselves into a sniggering and frenzied circle jerk of “I know football SO much better than the guys getting paid millions to coach the games” I occasionally find myself to be somewhat underwhelmed. How often did we have to suffer: “Kirby doesn’t get it” while simultaneously proclaiming Mike Leach as Vince Lombardi and Bill Walsh combined? Why should it take allegiance to anything over and above reality to push back on that sort of thing? Everyone gets an opinion so there’s billions of them. There is only one set of facts. Is it too much to ask to make an effort to adhere to them? When an opinion can’t be squared with reality does attacking the messenger reduce the margin of the original disconnect or is it just a way to distract or a ploy for future impunity?
I didn’t redefine anything. I said those schools get the top QBs. Your reply is someone who isn’t one.
Now you’re going on about wide outs, but I’m the one redefining. Lmao whatever.
How did the internet convert “those schools get the top QBs” into “Bobo doesnt get those?”

Who recruited the guy who was the former no. 1 pick, super bowl champion and is starting for the #4 seed in the nfc playoffs this weekend?
Beck was a loyal Dawg that waited until year 4 to get his shot. He deserves credit for this. That said he clearly had a complicated relationship (to say the least) with teammates and coaches. The inside scoop on Beck’s time in Athens would definitely be interesting but unlikely to ever see the light of day. I wish the kid well and hope he can recover his form—unless the ‘Canes somehow play UGA next year!
Wishing him the best, unless he plays against us. Hope he has a fast and full recovery, and tears up opposing defenses wherever he lands
