Since it’s a Saturday and, let’s face it, nothing replaces college football no matter whats going on in the sports world, let’s have some fun and do a game day post for a past Georgia football game…but you have to guess the game based on the ensuing description. The game and results will be revealed in a later post, but this one shouldn’t be too hard. To make it interesting, no names will be provided but some details and hints might lead you to the correct answer. Here goes…

It looks like it’s going to be a great day to start the season in Athens today, with clear weather and sunny skies…but let’s be honest, here: the weather might be the only thing clear heading into today’s game.
Following last season, which saw us miss a bowl game for the second straight year, this year’s version of the Dawgs will take the field today with a new and unproven sophomore quarterback, new backfield, and a defense under the leadership of a new defensive coordinator. A coaching journeyman, he’s served stints at several other SEC schools as a DC and as an interim head coach, as well.
This team is not without talent on both sides of the ball, but there’s much up in the air about the future of our head coach. As two of our longtime rivals have come to dominate the SEC and national conversations, we’ve been searching to re-establish our relevance in the conference, especially after last year’s embarrassing results where we lost to the two by a combined score of 93-37…and both are predicted to be even better this year.
Our opponent today is all too familiar, and their senior quarterback is hungry for one more chance to flip off the Sanford crowd in his final season under center. He has a solid running back to give plenty of support on the ground when he’s not slinging the ball all over the field, to boot. That alone should hopefully get the Bulldawg faithful out, up, and alive for the 12:30 start, so make sure you get there early enough to let him know just how much you won’t miss him once he’s gone. If you can’t make it, check it out on Jefferson Pilot Sports.
I remain optimistic, as we all do, that this year will be different…but, man, if a new quarterback doesn’t concern you, consider that our projected starting running back is a converted defensive back, and our third string QB AND RB is a wide out. Start strong, and our coach has a chance…a loss today, and our new defensive coordinator may well be an interim head coach…again.
