Fun Stat of the Day

Hmmm.

I think we’ve wondered on here before about which fanbase is the most delusional, and this just continues to reinforce that it could be Carolina. Vanderbilt, I get it, and the former Big XII teams is another thing, but one would think that the Gamecocks had a bit more success than this.

They haven’t had a cannon shot moment in a while, have they?

    • I heard this on the Senator’s site a few years back but I’ve enjoyed repeating it. It wasn’t until maybe last year that Tennessee finally crawled above .500 in SEC play for this century. LOL! Nothing sucks like a big orange!

  1. Cockylocky has probably the most delusional fanbase in CFB. They’ve typically been bad, with a few short periods of competitiveness. Over 118 seasons, they’re sitting only 24 games over .500 and have finished ranked 11 times. In comparison, UGA is 467 games over .500 and has finished ranked 44 times. (Bama – home of probably the most unreasonable fanbase in CFB – is a whopping 680 games over .500 and has finished ranked 63 times.)

    • When they hired Spurrier they thought it meant they could count his success at florida as their own.

    • I have to agree there is no more delusional fanbase in the SEC than cockerlina. There is also no stadium worse than theirs in September.

I was at the fairgrounds one year for a fishing tournament weigh in. We could hear Lou Holtz’s voice using his megaphone to berate his players during practice. I wished I would have had the good sense to record it. It was really comical listening to that lisp screaming at players.

  2. If university of south clemson could not win with the old ball coach, it ain’t gonna happen!! Go Dawgs!!

  3. When we won the SEC in 2002 it had been 20 years. I was five months old in 1982, so I didn’t even know what winning the SEC felt like.

Florida is going to be at the same point in just two years. These are the salad days in spite of this dumbass postseason system.

  4. I would have thought Arkansas, which actually has a decent football history, would have won one before Souf Cackalackee.

  5. Was UK on probation in ’76, because we won it? Ray Goff, Matt Robinson and Captain Crazy Butch Box.
