Here’s the final rankings after the CFP Championship game.

How do you feel about the final rankings? I kind of question Alabama’s final ranking, considering they had a loss to FSU, and two absolute beatings in their final three games of the year. Somehow, I don’t think that’s a Top 10 resume, even if it was to the eventual National Champions, but maybe I’m just biased here. Also, color me unimpressed by Oregon and Texas Tech both.
What’s your thoughts? Let’s hear about it in the comments, and also show your disrespect to others with a final Mumme Poll:
I know Ole Miss won the last meeting, but I would have the SEC Champion ranked as the highest SEC team. Not that it really matters at all.
It’s appears the format is use the playoff results for the top 6 then ignore the bowl game results. Maybe that’s fair with all the opt outs on bowl teams.
I personally think any poll once the opt outs start is worthless click bait. That includes the AP preseason poll it’s just a popularity contest also worthless.
Right on brother!
I would love for us to win a championship every year, but if we don’t get to, then my hope is we stay in the conversation and don’t have a drop off in standing and reputation. I think we’ve at least achieved continued relevancy so for that I’m satisfied and already fired up about next season.
The only thing that matters less than the preseason polls is the postseason poll (I’m talking about the top 25 polls) in a 12-team playoff world.
I’ll try to remember to vote, but Indiana would be the only team on my ballot. Still, 2019 LSU, 2020 Bama, 2021-22 Georgia, 2016 and 18 Clemson would boat-race them.
This feels about as relevant now as the post-basketball tournament poll. They end up just using a small sample of games in the tournament to rank the top half and ignore the rest of the season, which seems to kind of make the idea of ranking teams pointless.
Agreed. Miami jumps all the way from 12 to 2 cause they got on a heater, that never happens, pretty ridiculous that Ohio State and Oregon were both ranked ahead of us…….
There’s been a lot written this year about the fact that the SEC no longer dominates college football. It looks to me like, yes, the Big 10 has gotten stronger. But there are still more SEC teams in the top 25 and more SEC teams in the top 10.
SEC bias! Just ask the b1g.
Is there more parity? Yep.
We’ll see how much parity there really is when the super-seniors are gone.
Our team overachieved. A young team that looked like it had no chance to win a championship through the first half of the season. Steadily improved and became one of the favorites to win it all. Stomped BAMA and won back-to-back SEC championships. Yeah, the last game was disappointing, but we were in it to the end.
That being said, I hated pretty much everything else about CFB this season and am glad the non-UGA part is now over. I really dislike what this sport is becoming. Love watching the Dawgs on Saturdays, but could care less about the rest of the sport that now seems based on endless piles of money, a dumb oversized tournament, zero loyalty, and on-line sports gambling.
Ehhh…let’s not do this JP. The tournament was the sportswriters wet dream to ending polls. The committee further bastardized the rankings. We now “settled it on the field” so leave it there.
And f*ck bama.
