Say what you might about Searels, but the pro draft stats are startling when you compare them. I hadn’t even thought about the number of Olinemen headed to the NFL, maybe we’ve stepped into OLU territory.

Durn that’s impressive.

  1. Jackson Cantwell isn’t fooled by their bullshit, he will commit to the Dawgs next Tuesday. He’s the #1 player and OL in this cycle and the #2 player and #1 QB, Jared Curtis is making a special trip to Athens to help secure him. Cantwell will be in Athens today thru Sunday. If you ‘follow the visits’, as they say, that’s about as strong a sign as you can get.

  4. I don’t know if Cantwell comes to Georgia, but I do know I’ve watched some lousy offensive line play from Miami over the last 23 years compared to the list of OL draft picks in the Smart era.

    Big, bad Miami hasn’t even won the Almost Competitive Conference since joining in 2004.

    • Not for nothing but our current OL coach did coach there three years and it looks like none of his players were drafted. I could probably go along with the argument “CSS couldn’t develop talent in Miami and nothing has changed going to Athens.”

      Why did we have OL drafted this year? Because Kirby Smart can recruit — and Jimmy’s and Joe’s matter.

  6. Searels had 3 nfl draft picks last year. I’m scared to death to think how this season’s OL could resemble a turnstile.

  12. Not for nothing but our OL coach DID coach at Miami 1206-2018. 2018 being 8 years ago and no talent going to the NFL? Not sure I agree no talent development but one could argue CSS isn’t a great developer of talent —- and maybe experience was the underlying lynchpin to the argument. (Regardless of how flawed it is)

  13. The Oline unlike all other positions has to perform like bulldozers and the damn New York City Rockettes. Because of this injuries to the oline have a worst effect on the group. Having little practice time to cross train the line with every option at all the positions makes it impossible. You have 5 Olinemen and three deep, so it is almost impossible to do. The most important coach fo the Oline is the trainer, to keep them healthly.
