This question has probably been addressed, but why are you counting down from cards in the 100s and not cards in the 10s (why is today’s card 123 rather than 23)?

Yeah. It has. The set is 200 cards. We’re doing the first 100 this season the second round of 100 will be for next season.

Charley Britt, another in a long list of guys with the initials “CB” from North Augusta to play for UGA. Just a few years ago we had CJ Byrd from NA. I’m sure there are others, there must be….

I bought an autographed jersey of his at one of the Gala banquets. It bothered me that he didn’t play more QB than some kid named Tarkenton. Good thing I was about 9 yrs old.

He did play more QB than Tarkenton. In 1958 and 1959 players had to play both ways. There were specific times in the game when a coach could substitute so when Butts put Tarkenton in to substitute for Britt Tarkenton would have had to play safety. Britt was s much better defensive player than Tarkenyon so Britt was the starter at QB and safety. Tarkenton was the starter at QB and safety in 1960.

My father was a hero to Charlie in North Augusta. I know him well, and can say that he is probably one of the best athletes to ever come out of the CSRA. We have had our fair share of athletes to come out of North Augusta, Donald Metz, Pat Collins, Charlie Waters, just to name a few!

He had to be a great athlete if he could be first team ahead of a future NFL Hall of Fame QB

My first Georgia/uf game was when Charley took the INT 100 yds. Great memory for a 11 year old kid (at the time) lol.
