Countdown to Georgia Bulldogs Football, 14 Days

Goo morning! I briefly thought about not posting this until 3:30pm, when we’d be exactly 2 weeks from UGA football. So, that’s where we are, 2 weeks away, 14 days left…. here’s card #114:

Go Dawgs!

  1. This card not only has historical value, but evidence the fucking zeeeebra’s are blind…the north avenue fucking trade schools illegal blocking techniques, obvious holding skills, offsides, not to mention intentional grounding plus nerd footballs inability to handle superior talent, on top of all that, no flag thrown on this or any other plays by impaired ref…GO DAWGS!!

  2. Marietta High, and I think he played for the Eagles for a bit. When I was a boy I’d see him and his equally-giant brother at church

  3. That 25-9-1 record was as follows.
    1971: 11-1
    1972: (my freshman year) 7-4
1973: 7-4-1 including back to back losses at Vanderbilt and at home to Kentucky. We did beat Tennessee in Knoxville, though and won at Tech in front of what was at the time the largest crowd to see a football game ever in Georgia .
The 1970s were dollar coasters for my team.
It wasn’t Cagle’s fault; he was really good. The offense was not good in 1972 and 1973. Then the offense was very good in 1974 and the defense was poor.

  4. Question: Have any of you met some of those OG linemen from the Dooley days?

    • Got, I lived in the Mac for several years in the early 80’s, and I hung out with a lot of the football players. I also roomed with Mike Steele for a year, and Mike’s best friend was Warren Grey, so I got to see them up close and personal. In today’s world, they would not be big enough to be on a scout team!
