The SEC is planning on putting the clamps on LSU, and if Sankey can’t do it, the rest of the SEC is prepared to do it, Texas Tech style.

Meanwhile, Tulane is eyeing a return to the SEC. At this point, it may be a fair trade and LSU could take their changes as a G6 team if they plan on standing firm on their NFL to College transfer portal pipeline.

I mean, not really, but it keeps the regionalism and Tulane is less of a headache and a half than LSU and Joey Freshwater. Speaking of…what’s Lane up to right now?

  1. Brooks Austin abd his guys were doing a collective shrug about this last night. Their take was basically, “Why do this over an overweight defensive lineman and a tight end nobody wants?” This of course totally ignores the bigger issue. I am glad the SEC is doing this. If they let Freshwater and LSU just get away with this it really was all about to go to hell in a hand basket. Good onnthe individual programs. Fuck you, Lane. You are not in charge and nobody is obligated to put up with your adolescent bullshit.

    • I think the “why do this” by Brooks and the boys was directed solely at LSU, as in “Why are you going to risk possible expulsion from the conference over two players who aren’t going to play that much?” It just doesn’t make any sense.

    • I really hope this ends with the LSU president angrily leading a press conference with an overhead projector outlining why they had to remove Kiffin, a la Al Davis. Only time I ever liked that old asshole…

    • Because, it is not just about those two; it is about continuing to push the envelope. If they pull this off, imagine what they might be thinking about doing next spring/summer/early fall – why not guys who have played in NFL games coming back to college??? After all, there’s no difference between playing in an NFL regular season game instead of a pre-season NFL game! This can be done all the way to the bottom of the slippery slope…..

      • I think all the smoke from LSU being behind the lawsuit and the legal strategy without being a party to the action has pissed off a lot people across the southeast. When LSU abstained on the final vote agreeing to the rule and the penalties, everyone had to know this was where it was heading.

        The anonymous comment about membership probably came from someone in Austin or Tuscaloosa.

  6. Lane is the face of this fiasco, but the administration at LSU could put an end to this today. I hope the SEC keeps their ass tied up in court for the next 12-18 months over this bullshit.

    • The LSU administration isn’t going to do squat. They brought in Will Wade to pull the same crap with the basketball team.

    Kiffen is clueless, childish and desperate if he thinks this sh*t is going to payoff with an “us vs them” mentality for the team. I actually liked our Cajun cousins but they done married a whore I can’t abide by. Sorry Tigahs…you’re outsiders now.

    I wouldn’t want to be the Federal judge on this. So many arguments to sift through on so many levels that will be kicked to the appellate courts anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me if the courts just say “you know what…you all have f’ed this up so badly we’re not going to step in. Figure it out yourself while dealing with the fact that each individual player has unlimited rights to anything anywhere college football is being played.”
