Good afternoon, Refugees!
I added back the hits counter on the top right hand side of the page, and I always liked the Senator’s quotes he’d leave there, so I added that back in to the site, as well.
Doing some deep diving, I found some of the following things:
- Seeing who liked your comments…apparently this was a feature in legacy WordPress sites but is no longer available on the WordPress.com sites. It may be a feature on the WordPress.org site, which wasn’t The Senator’s hosting site, but I might test a different blog there to see if it works.
- In the same vein, posting images and videos and gifs seems to have also left with WordPress.com updates, but the same guidance said may be easier on the .org site. I’m going to similarly explore this and see what happens.
The brainfarts braintrust that is your committed editors will continue to look into fixes and hopefully find some work arounds. If not, we’ll just have to express ourselves in colorful language instead of GIFs and videos, which I know so many of us are quite adept at doing.
I’ll follow back up with more updates as they come.
Best,
JP
Go JP, go.
I sincerely appreciate everything that all of y’all do. I feel guilty that I get to read this for free.
JP. I don’t know why but I always see who likes my comment in my yahoo email ( yeah I did say yahoo mail). Hell when everybody got a gmail, I just kept my 20 something yahoo box. I get an email from GTPR saying so and so liked your comment on, what ever the name of the topic.
Appreciate you guys. I’d have to go to rehab if this blog ever shuts down.
Another thank you for your efforts they are greatly appreciated.
I am quiet adept at many things.
I can see that. (:
