Saw this, and it made me chuckle.
Ole Geoff was fun to have on the opposing sidelines, to be sure, and the article goes on to include the Jeremy Pruitt debacle as one of the worst over Collins’ tenure, as well.
Honestly, I’m surprised I didn’t see a few more SEC names on there, like Muschamp or McElwain…and honestly the Derek Mason experience in Nashville was forgettable, as well.
What do you think?
Swag meister wasn’t a scheduled laughing matter at nerd football, just made nerd football all that more laughable on a daily basis…GO DAWGS!!
I have fond memories of Coach Capri Pants
Brian Harsin, Chad Morris, Mike Bobo x 2 and Stacey Searels x2.
Schottenheimer…hands down
Forgot how bad he was when I made my list. Jerry is gonna love him.
Al Golden at Miami?
Lane Kiffin at USC?
The right answer can’t be anything but Butch Jones at Tennessee.
In defense of Coach Capri Pants, he inherited a total mess of a roster built by Fish Fry. He did leave Key enough players to start a rebuild. I wanted him at the trade school forever.
True but Capri Pants could have run more option concepts transitioning to the 20th century.
But he didn’t and…..
1 Geoff was the GREATEST hire, ever! Still irate he’s gone.
2 I give Glenn Mason a pass, Vanderbilt is the problem not him
Butch Please! Trash cans as a motivational tool and reading from his big book of cliches. Brick by brick. Champions of life. I miss old Sergeant Carter.
Bitch Jones & Mr Waffle House take on Schittenheimer & Kevin « I can be replaced in game »Ramsey in a tag team match for the galactically stupid champions
with the referee to be Damon « red panties » Evans
Damon is now at SMU with a base salary of one million a year and boosters throwing money into the department.
I sometimes find myself fantasizing I could be a failed coaching hire.
There is no better job than getting fired by Auburn.
It surprises me that there are this many comments and nobody’s brought up Jimbo Fisher yet. He may have had more wins than some of the others listed, but in terms of total cost — money AND time squandered — that’s got be one of the most disastrous hires of the last decade, for sure.
