I get the emotions of losing a game, and I don’t believe I saw Tech players shaking hands with Oklahoma players when they got crushed at home in their Regional game, either.
So, what say you? Is it bad sportsmanship, or is it permissible in the height of emotions in a crushing defeat?
It’s bad sportsmanship and a jerk thing to do. End of discussion.
The self righteousness of the video is a bit much.
That said, it’s tradition and it’s a bad look not to shake hands. But it’s not like UT was lining up waiting for the handshake line either.
Agree!
While no doubt Texas Tech showed poor sportsmanship and looked bad by refusing to shake hands after the game, the commenter in the video was way over the top. He especially lost me when he began criticizing the TT player who was in tears over losing the game.
“Why are you crying when you could be out there on the diamond congratulating them on a national championship?”
Bruh…….
“There’s no crying in softball.”
Tom Hanks probably.
Whiny ass florida yankee going overboard with damning commentary. Probably pissed because TT got “JWill’s” butch daughter. That whole crowd deserves one another. FTMF.
The Johnny Lawrence shook Dan LeRusso’s hand and handed him the trophy after an illegal kick in the 1984 All Valley Under 18 Karate (and you know how I pronounced it) Tournament. It’s college softball, it’s not like it’s even a real championship (until the Lady Dawgs win, of course), suck it up and let the only loss be on the field. Nobody will remember the score but they will remember you sorry behaviour.
p.s. one of my best friends’ bride won softball rings with UCLA and will take a bat to me for this.
Any school that litters their home field with water bottles can’t say a fucking thing to anyone about sportsmanship. Fuck Texass!
Can’t like this comment enough!
Who knew there would be a meteor game in softball?
Good behavior is learned from adults who teach it and therein lies the problem.
You shake hands
