Good morning! We are 100 days away from the Georgia Bulldogs opening game against Tennessee State on September 5th. We began a look through the Georgia’s Finest football card set as we counted down to the beginning of last season. We went through cards 200-101 of the set. This preseason we will go through the cards numbered 99-1 in the set.

Collegiate Collection was only around for about 3 years before a lawsuit and financial woes took them under. Damned lawyers ;). The lawsuit forced CC to pull everything from the shelves, the cards were warehoused and CC quietly went out of business. The old stock was eventually sold off, one couple from Kentucky (where CC was based) obtained a large amount of the old stock in 2008 and sold them on eBay, my set was probably one of those.

As we noticed last season, CC obviously had a limited research department as numerous errors, mistaken identities and just general sloppiness was noted by many of you during last season’s countdown. I guess that is part of the charm of this set. Card #100 is just a Checklist card so, we will start with card #99 tomorrow.
