Tuesday Refugee Roundtable: Top of the Mornin’ To Ye

If you’re down in Savannah, here’s your PSA.

So, easy one for today…do you celebrate? If so, what’re you eating and/or drinking?

Happy St. Patty’s Day. Behave and be safe, you scamps.

  1. Happy St Patricks’s Day!!! 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🍻
Brits out & Guinness for all!
    slaintè!!!

  2. My Irish grandfather said “they’re all crazy back there”, but always made a huge deal out of St. Patties Day – even weeks before it arrived. We always had big Irish potatoes. occasionally corned beef. No cabbage (thankfully).

Interesting aside, late in life when potato skins began showing up on restaurant menus Gramps didn’t understand why anyone would want them: ‘who the heck would eat the skins?!’. At least one Irishman would rather starve than eat potato skins.

His strongest advice: always buy a round for your friends. So the Harps are on me (not a Guinness drinker).

  3. The only time I’ve been there for the parade was in ’83 or ’84. The details are still kind of hazy. Barbara Eden was the Grand Marshall. Jeannie still looked fine nearly twenty years after the TV show ended

  4. My daddy’s birthday is St. Patrick’s day. He always had corned beef my mother would season and brine herself. Now we just buy some and have it. Still gonna have me a liquor drink though. Happy Day to all!! Still miss them. ☘️
