Ugh, It’s Ole Miss…Again

Texas and Ole Miss played last night, with the lower-seeded Rebels coming out on top in what was pretty much and easy win for Ole Miss from start to finish.

Both teams beat Georgia in the regular season, Ole Miss with a last second tip-in in overtime, and Texas with one of our few blowout losses (though we got them in the second game).

Ole Miss is scrappy, fast, and seemed to be a tougher matchup for us than Texas. We’ll get a chance to see if we’re playing better now than earlier this season, which I think we are, and how ready we are for the Big Dance. Fingers crossed.

  1. I like our chances. We had them beat the whole game. Up by 4 with 48 seconds left. OM scores with 38 seconds left to cut it to 2. All we had to do was run the clock down and take a shot and even if we missed it, OM would only have around 8 seconds to get down the court and get a shot off. I like those odds up by 2. But what do we do instead when we get the ball up by 2 with 38 seconds? We immediately drive to the basket and throw up a clown shot, giving OM 30 seconds to set up their offense to tie the game. Should have won that game, or at least should have made it harder for them to win or tie in the last seconds of the game. I think we play it smarter next time around.

    • It was a very poor finish to a game early in the season that we should have won – I think they’ve grown a lot over the past few weeks….

  2. Love to watch. But can’t do. Will just check score at times. Watching is forbidden at my house! Go Dawgs!!!

  3. Hopefully playing on back to back nights takes a little quickness out of Ole Miss.

  4. It was weird experiencing a SEC Wednesday where the Hoop Dawgs hadn’t let me down

  5. Tonight needs to be the first of several whuppins that we owe them.
