Didn’t watch, in keeping with my promise, but from what I could see on the socials it sounds like the refs jobbed us in Nashville…but if we’re going to be an elite program, it shouldn’t be hinging on officiating at any point in a game. Those are the breaks, I guess…Dawgs lost to Vanderbilt, 88-80.
And, to make matters worse, as Dawg fans were enjoying the sight of Tech baseball losing to crosstown foe Georgia State on Tuesday, which saw three other ranked baseball programs lose midweek games to unranked, lesser programs, in walks Troy to ruin the Diamond Dawgs’ week.
Note – for the second straight game, Tre Phelps walked out wearing orange.
I know the modern young baseball player likes their swag, but orange on any aspect of the Georgia uniform should be outlawed and result in a fine out of an athlete’s NIL funds, at a minimum.
On to the weekend.
Cain has plenty of opportunities to take solid perimeter shots, but forces a drive inside and usually gets snuffed. Somebody please tell him he’s not 7’0” Giannis.
Diamond Dogs kept getting 2 or 3 base runners on in extras, but couldn’t get the damn winning run home.
I get the pups like the SWAG, but you’re correct. Choose another eye catching color other than urnge!
I can’t believe his teammates aren’t giving him so much shit about wearing orange.
Another slow start to the game we don’t ever seem to overcome. Was impressed with the 2nd half comeback. Announcers pointed out how we’re all underclassmen and White has a chance to keep them together. We’ll see. That might be an NIL budget bigger than Josh can muster but maybe Nique will step in.
Was a complete umpshow in the second half (didn’t see the first), if I wanted to see a free throw shooting contest I would’ve switched to the Ocho…..
The guy wears his jersey half buttoned up as well. I speak for several Lettermen from Georgia, this guy needs to be reined in by our sawed off coach. Evidently Wes does not care about tradition, and it is quite obvious neither one of them have any class!
