I wonder if Dabo is reflecting on what he has wrought. From perennial powerhouse to laughingstock of college football, let’s take a moment to appreciate that Kirby Smart coached in the same era and found a way to adapt and win.
IPTAY needs to adjust their donation base, apparently.
But hey, at least they have a sense of humor about their downfall, amirite?
Just sad.
What does Clemson do at this point? Fire the man whose name is likely going to be painted on that field someday? Encourage him to “retire” and be a fund raiser for “little ol’ Clemson” to save the buyout?
At this point, he could coach out his contract which runs through 2031, but he’s likely a lame duck unless he finds a way to turn it around. Supposedly, his buyout is somewhere around $60,000,000.
The IPTAY crowd is fit to be tied. A large segment of them likely want him to end things on his terms while not cratering the program in the process. A loud segment want him gone now (see Clemson’s appearance in multiple MBG posts this season). Probably another large segment doesn’t trust the Clemson power structure to find a suitable replacement.
Sound familiar? There ain’t no Clemson version of Kirby Smart out there right now. Could that be Brandon Streeter if they can get over the way he was made the 2022 scapegoat?
Regarding Clemson: although he’s still circling the drain, did Kirby break Deebo like some of the other coaches?
Kirby definitely broke him. I remember the way Clemson people were crowing before the game in Charlotte. That program hasn’t been the same since. The 2024 Kirb-stomp turned that vocal part of the fan base against him.
Well, Clemson is a joke and a hell of a lot funnier than SNL this season. Weekend Update segment could just run a blooper reel of Klubnik.
What a terrible OC hire Dabo made in Little Garrett Riley. Totally ruined that program.
Didn’t he hire Riley right after Riley’s offense put up a whopping 7 points on us in the championship game?
Yup
Well, after watching the little SNL parody promo, Clemson went out and proved they were definitely “NOT READY FOR PRIME TIME PLAYERS”
