That’s Entertainment

Boy are people having a field day of stupidity after a weekend of lousy football.

Also, the “SEC is Overrated” crowd is having a bunch of fun, noting the two losses that came at the hands of conference members.

Granted, that’s a Notre Dame account, which they’ve not been without their own touches of ambivalence, pointing out that they should’ve been there instead of a Miami, Oklahoma, or a TAMU. One problem, though:

On the flip side, it’s further proof that the CFP needs not expand, and likely was better at the four team model. Of all the games played the only team that look like they deserved a second consideration was Oregon, but it’s hard to look past getting beat by Indiana and having a lone quality win against Penn State.

I guess Mickey got what he wanted, though.

  1. I’m so mad at myself for wasting a beautiful day of weather to watch that garbage. At least my brother in law made the decision to switch over to the NFL game while the kids unwrapped presents

  2. The only thing that the College Football “powers that be” will take out of the game results from yesterday is that they need to expand the playoff so that 4 teams better than JMU and Tulane can get in. I think that everyone that reads this blog know that it’s all about the money.

    • This absolutely. Go5 get 2 guaranteed spots to avoid the lawsuits as does ACC and Notre Dame. Oh look! Top 12 plus 4 losers.

      • Actually G5 gets one guaranteed spots but if 2 G5 conference champions are among the top 5 ranked conference champions it gets 2 in. This year Tulane got the guaranteed spot and JMU earned the 5th highest ranked conference champion spot over Duke.

  3. If ESPN controlled the selection process we don’t get JMU and Tulane playing time wasting no interest games. This ani’t BB Cinderella doesn’t play CFB. Please fix this before next season.

I’ve already read the SEC was the big loser in round one. With 3 of the 8 teams playing. Best case is the league ties for most teams losing. Nope the story was an overrated SEC leads in playoff loses. Of course it’s a b10 national writer explaining how bad the SEC is. I’m so glad we are long past the press picking the National Champs. I’d love to see Indiana ant the bucknuts both lose their games.

    • With sec expansion, came that brilliant idea of more is better in the cfp, sec be finding more embarrassment vs more gooder team play….the ghost of jimbo at a&m is alive and well, give the hc bigger monie$, that hc will deliver more bigger, bad losses…GO DAWGS!!

  4. I took my happy ass away from the TV and spent the afternoon in the surburban wilderness hunting up last minute Christmas gifts and some adult bevvys. Glad I didn’t waste time on crappy Sat. Games. However it appears the shambolic sausage-making from the committee somehow produced 4 pretty compelling QF matchups. Not a bad looking game in the bunch. We knew all along that we’d be playing the Fighting Red Solo Cups in the Sugar Bowl anyways. I can’t wait to see new and improved Dawg D get after Chambliss’s ass for 60 minutes!

  5. 12 teams is more than enough, 8 is about right in deserving teams on thus new environment of nil & portal.
They will expand because money 💰 talks

  6. Those tv ratings going to be so bad ESPN will be withholding some conference payouts. Using TNT network on a Saturday to concede women’s BB is a better draw on the Flagship? That’s up there with Beth Mowins and Charles Johnson calling the games.

  7. The funniest part – Notre Dame fans tuning in crow about how they would beat Da U and Tejas Cult & M probably made ESPN’s nut on the ratings. Putting the rectal deposit games on TNT – Chef’s Kiss. All the Vandy and Tejas fans hate watching probably gave them Rasslin’/NBA ratings and will just encourage the committee to choose a sorrier field next year.

  8. Here’s a idea:
Instead of waiting 2 weeks for the first round, G5 qualifier(s) have a play in game vs the first 2 out (Vandy/texas/ND for example) the first week after the conference championships (same day as army/navy). The winners then play the next week.
May be hard on the in-person crowd, but we stopped caring as much about them long ago.
Top ranked G5 qualifier(s) can host the game as well.

    • Upon further review…conspiracy theorists unite….looking at the game day setup, tosu, not only gets a decent draw vs the “u”, tosu receives an extra day of potential rest….dropping fucknuts one spot after a huge “L” is acceptable in only one circle, that giant circle of committee dick wads….GO DAWGS!!
