This is an interesting graphic.
Kirby said this was a young team, but, damn. Now we just have to keep them on campus. Quick reminder – Glenn “Pop” Warner was Georgia’s coach from 1895-1896, per my morning calendar trivia…but he ain’t the coach right now.
Does having senior leadership matter? Are we seeing the results of our youth out there today? Discuss.
I would say that does play a roll. That is crazy about the Vols. How in the world do they have that many freshman? I wonder if it is because they are counting true freshman and redshirt freshman together?
Lack of senior leadership has to have an impact. The oldest starters on offense are who? Micah Morris, Delp, Noah Thomas (who just got to Athens)? On defense ? CJ Allen, Everette, and who else has been around with substantial playing experience?
The only counting performed religiously, by anyone associated with big urunge kuntry football, is from that lovely couple, LuLu and Junior, as their hot n fresh consumption of those lovely glazed covered finger rings is a dozen per seating, they are extremely annoyed, then happy with the “bakers dozen”….GO DAWGS!!
Kirby has mentioned quite a few times that this is a very young team. Maybe he was warning us that there might be some struggles along the way. He has also said many times that he really likes this team’s makeup. Kentucky is a ‘get right’ game for us. Do that, continue to gel and improve, and I think we’ll be fine. There’s a heap of fight in these Dawgs. Dropping in the polls might be the best thing that could have happened.Kirby has got their full attention now.

Just maybe that attention will lead to another opportunity at those insufferable pricks to the west of the Hooch.
At anchor down, you can graduate, then participate in sports for 5 or 7 years, which ever comes first…who $ay$ nil don’t pay….
Percentage of seniors doesn’t matter. It’s about the players in those slots. If I have Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Davin Bellamy and Lorenzo Carter (same with 2021 guys) in that group, I’m going to be good because I have talented players who are also team leaders. For a program that builds from HS recruiting, expect these numbers to remain constant.
Vandy’s players and coaches are from the Harvard of… New Mexico.
All I know is I’ll be pulling for them this Saturday.
Leadership matters. It doesn’t necessarily have to come from juniors and seniors. Unfortunately, in the recent past we’ve been outcoached and outplayed by Notre Dame, Tennessee and Alabama. Tennessee let us back in, but leadership is missing on the sidelines as well as the field. Georgia continues to start games unprepared. That’s primarily on the coaches. Kirby cites lack of execution but it’s his staff’s responsibility to get the team ready and put the right personnel on the field. There is no quit in this team. They tend to respond well to adversity. But they also create a lot of that adversity for themselves. Last week was our best chance in years to put the Alabama curse behind us. Instead, we added content to their highlight reel. No, it’s not the end of the season but it does speak to lack of leadership from coaches and players alike. It’s also the kind of loss that can color the entire season. We all know other teams get a pass when they lose a close game to a good team early in the season. Georgia does not get the benefit of the doubt. Witness the difference in the response to our loss versus Penn State’s.
Agree. And there’s a surprising lack of havoc plays. After 4 games, 2 vs. non-SEC, that’s a clear pattern. That’s on coaching and scheming.
A 22-24 year old that’s been in a college strength program has an advantage over a 19 year old 98 out of 100 times. Mentally the 22-24 year old has an advantage most of the time. Unless Kirby can maintain 11 NFL starters and multiple NFL backups (2021) the older kids have an advantage.
This right here. A skilled WR like Ryan Williams can shine, but not an 18 year old on defense who hasn’t seen the size, speed and scheme of big time college football other than at preseason practice.
Vandy will beat Alabama…45 seniors and graduates on their 2 deep. That includes special teams.
Based on the current money line, you can more than triple your money with this take if you so desire.
Unlimited free agency, will destroy any team. The money is going to be flying and to be honest UGA does not have oil well money. If the young guys are good but are not going to be first string then they will take the money and run. I just think that we substitute too much, on offense. Running backs especially need to get to run a lot to get into the flow. Rotation of the backs is hurting us.
