Wednesday Wondering: How Are You Watching?

Saw this, and it’s as refreshing a sight as the feeling of fall in the air again this morning.

Admittedly, I wished I was there. With the change in temperature outside, it’s tempting to take a day off of work and dry-run the Saturday festivities, just, you know, for practice. It’s so close we can literally feel it and taste it out in the air.

Anyway – how’re you watching Saturday? Will you be at the game, where’s your “traditional spot”, or will you be watching the game elsewhere?

Also – is there a Senator meet up this year? If anyone knows, share out in the comments.

  1. Being a fat bastard, I absolutely love the cooler temperatures. That said, I do love the weather being warm enough for the ladies in sundresses.

  2. Heading to Athens with my 12 year old son. Weather looks like it may be a slog fest. RTDB.

  3. I will be there. Not sure where the spot is for Saturday because I’m getting into Athens a little later than normal.

On a Senator tailgate, I haven’t heard anything from his railroad lot peeps.

  4. Cooler weather 🤣. At 7500 ft of elevation we only used the ac one day this summer. Section HD with Pikes Peak in the background and commenting on GTPR for me.

  5. Alternating between sitting on the sofa in my great room and the sofa on the screened porch…..and consuming a few Blue Moons.

  6. Let’s see:
Hit the Athens Academy Track at sunrise and run a mile time trial.
Bemoan how the Mayflower is closed at breakfast.
Re-watch the Tejas game on the YourTubes.
Crank Ride the Bee on the soundbar and explain to wives & dates how awesome Allgood is.
Cruise downtown and park at one of the seven broken parking meters I’ve scoped out.
Enjoy a barley pop at the Creature Comforts.
Stroll to Blue Sky for a libation.
Flip coin on whether to sit in the rain or not.
If tails: stroll to Georgia Theater, then remember they denied me entrance once for not having a vaccine card (like Fleet Feet Athens oddly) so I end up at Cutter’s – the barkeeps surprisingly pour 90’s era cocktail stiffies.
At start of 4th Quarter text group on where we’re grabbing a table to eat supper – South Kitchen has come through many games.
Decide to watch primetime games back at GringoManor.
Bet friends $1 I can run back to the condo before they can drive back.
Skin knee when I trip and fall in Five Points.
Hurl around where Bulldawg Pizza is.
Win bet and taunt friends I will be buried with my winnings.
Laugh my arse off when Ohio State hangs haffa hunerd on Tejas.
    Sleep like a baby.

    Saturday in Athens, baby!

  7. I gotta work so I’ll be watching it on my tablet. I will, however, watch the rest of the day’s festivities from section HD with a cold beverage.

  8. Pole Barn…saying farewell to Coach Corso in the morning, then shouting unholy things at the big screen all Saturday…God Bless America and Go Dawgs!

    • I’d rather shave my ass with a broken beer bottle than watch Lame Day!! Corso should have been put out to pasture with Holtz several years back, and that loud mouth piss ant that came on board replacing Pollock ruined the show!!

  9. 20 plus year tradition: My best friend and our wives (who are also best friends) go to Vegas on opening weekend. Me and him pick a sports book, get a table, couch, or fancy reclining chairs (depends on the book). Order beers all day and bet mindlessly while trying to watch 20 or so games simultaneously on huge screens. The more we bet the more free beers we get! It is possible we take a brief break to get something to eat at a sports bar or brewery with lots of TVs.

The women play slots and come find us around midnight to make sure we can get back to the room.

  10. HOT DAMN THE DAWGS PLAY THIS WEEKEND!!!
My wife is OoT until late Saturday night and I’m breaking in a new puppy, so I’m in my usual perch in front of the big screen with my laptop strategically placed so I can follow the gameday threads. Thinking about what I want to grill and what will be the beverage. I’m thinking ribs with some nice cold beers.
For brunch to kick it off I’m having a gloriously spicy Bloody Mary: Charleston style with an Old Bay rim, assorted charcuterie and pickles, and a home cured pork middle kebab. And a handful of Atorvastatin.

    Go Dawgs…

  11. We’ll be spending the day with good friends, grilling on the deck & watching the game. It’s become the go to gameday option amongst our group as we’ve gone to less & less games in person.

  12. I’ll be in my shop with game day or sec net on in the background while I polish a car and drink beer.

Game time I’ll move into the house.

Probably back out in the shop for other games.

We have a new pizza joint we will get take away from, can’t be bothered to cook on opening day.

It’s our first “empty nest” fall so things are a little odd.

    • It’s mine too. Kind of an abrupt change after eighteen years. Although we did buy him a t-shirt that said, “God gave me the ability to be anything I wanted; so I became an asshiole.”

  13. I’ll be in section HD for the game. Still in SE Florida enjoying opening of filet and release Snook season starting 9/1. Gave my tickets to my niece and husband both recent UGA grads.
