Evening, everyone. We are running towards the end of our site license with WordPress, so we’re going to start toying with some fixes.
The first attempt will be to route people to the “mirror site” using the current Refugees URL. The goal would be for users to go to the regular URL address but it opens in the mirror site, where most of you tell me that commenting and liking functions work properly. This is the next of our attempts before we go nuclear and just decide to go with a different service/provider.
Our goal is to allow ease in commentary and have the old GTP aesthetic, wherever we should land. Otis and myself aren’t IT guys and none of us got in to this with the idea we would be getting this deep into WordPress, so trust when I say your frustration is ours.
I say all this to say, hang in there with us. If something goes ass up, most of you are subscribers and we can still update you in progress via email, just in case.

Still using Jetpack to comment, but can’t “like” posts or comments here. If I don’t use private browsing on my iPhone I can comment on Safari. Liking is slow but works there. I wonder if private browsing is the issue?
No idea, but I don’t recall ever having these issues on GTP. Next try if this doesn’t work is to test some of the plugins that were installed back in September. Don’t want our readers to do the Hokey Pokey just to comment!

Did anyone ever ask about using the Senator’s site or do we absolutely have to have a new site called GTPR? If permission was granted why not just rename the site.
At one time, one of our readers that knows the family personally, not necessarily closely, offered to reach out to the family about it. But, I never heard anything back. The site is still up. If anyone knows the family and would like to reach out to them about the possibility of us gaining access to it, I’d be willing to combine the sites and run it from there. But, I didn’t personally know Michael or his family so I have no connection to anything.

It would almost be worth it if anyone lives in the area where he practiced stop by and talk with one of his attorney friends. Could be of great help and could probably reach out to the family.
And the banner could be a combination of Dooly and James Brown and what is being used for GTPR.
If a small miracle happened, and we got access to that site, I say leave the design/layout as is.
