Welp, in addition to the $250,000 fine imposed on Texas for the water bottle incident, there’s additional potential sanctions that could come in the form of disallowing beer sales during games, and apparently the Texas administration isn’t taking this lightly:
Technology is a bitch. Additionally, if you watch replays, you’ll notice there’s no shortage of people on the field recording the whole damned thing.
Play stupid games, kids, and you win stupid prizes.
Also, this snark was too good not to post:
This was part of the SEC’s sanctions handed (horns) down last night. Greg $ankey knew he couldn’t let this slide with a slap on the wrist. After Kirby called out the officiating on the field and gave a subtle jab in the press conference, no way could the suits in Birmingham appear to have any Texas bias.
Texas may be the richest program in the country, but I still envision its athletic director saying: A fine for throwing bottles is ok, BUT LET’S NOT GET CARRIED AWAY HERE!
Is the conference gonna let Kirby slide?
I believe that is the same amount and same demand of revoking tickets that the vols received when the land train came to town
*Lane
I still think the French’s mustard bottle was pure comic gold!
(Ugly Dawg here). TXUX has replaced Tennessee for having the trashiest fans…They’ll need a couple of garbage trucks when those two teams eventually meet…They should call it the “Dumpster Bowl”…”T For Texas, T for Tennessee”.
The announcers were sickening as usual.
Alabama was robbed by the officials on a couple of key spots..(Karma?) and it looks as if TXUX has stolen the Tide’s officiating privilege.
I suppose we’ll have to accept Kirby’s explanation on the on-side kick or whatever it was…it gave the Holsteins something they couldn’t get on their own..a doable drive and hope. Honestly, the game was never close.
Georgia is a MUCH BETTER TEAM than Txux. The game was in no way as close as the final score. Without that crazy kickoff and without official help, the Short Horns never get in FG range.
Is there any group of people more inept or cowardly or dishonest than SEC officials? They are horrible and should be fired. They were terrified to call a touchdown for Georgia, they called defensive PI on Georgia when everyone in the world (except the Txus bottle slingers) saw it. They denied UGA a late first down with obvious bias towards helping the Cows get one last gasp. I’m going to just say that I believe they were cheating out of fear or something worse…Nobody is that unwillingly blind.
Also, overlooked in the discussion of drops by the Dawg receivers…the defensive backs dropped at least a couple of easy interceptions too. This game could have been 40 something to zip with better hands and honest refs.
Remember..in the SEC, “T” is for “Trashy”.
It was PI on that play, but changing the call AFTER announcing it, marking of the yardage, AND starting the clock back to resume play was total BS. The only reason they had time to discuss it was because the petulant Texas fans threw bottles and cans on the field.
(ugly) Yes it probably was. My comment was on the earlier PI called on the UGA defender when the reciever hugged him like he was his mom on Mother’s Day. That was the wrong call and lo and behold, the UGA fans there didn’t throw a tantrum or a bottle.
Still, it will be interesting to see the student section at the next SEC school where there’s a shitty call. SEC Office still hasn’t addressed the lack of in-game penalty on Texas.
Revoking people’s tickets is a pretty good response, but I agree they should have been flagged in game or at a minimum received a warning over the PA that if it continued or happened again they would give UT a 15 yard Unsportsmanlike penalty.
I asked the Texas fans around me “is this Cleveland?” while that was going on. I think they really appreciated it.
Some texass fans have intoned that “no beer cans were thrown in the field” so alcohol sales should not be banned. Well, we all know that’s bullshit. We all know alcohol was a prompter in the decision for the students to do their best Nolan Ryan. I fully support the idea to ban beer sales at DKR for the remainder of this season, and maybe even next season. Like the old saying goes, it’s the principle of the thing. That bunch of arrogant pricks in austin think they can control the decisions makers in the SEC. Make an example of them or this shit will happen again.
(No, I did not capitalize either texass or austin. That is the amount of total disdain I have for that cesspool.”
The first thing thrown was an beer can.
They shouldn’t allow them to show replays on their jumbotron for the rest of the season/SEC games.
and oh, before I forget, piss on Mathew McConaughey.
Kinky
Alright, alright, alright…
Go Dawgs, Go Dawgs, Go Dawgs!
Brilliant troll by Kirby.
Get back in your Lincoln Navigator and get out of town! FTMF!
Agree..that phony macho man is a girlyboy with an ugly orange soul. I want to see football on the screen, not silly actors.
If the Texas fans are Nolan Ryan, does that make the officials Robin Ventura???
(uglydawg) Good post, moe. I like your “texass” (and not capitalized) reference even better than my “Txux”. Remember how The Senator hated them?? He’d be proud today!
They do t belong in the SEC and never have.
If they wanted a cake walk to a conference title every year like they had in the Big 12, they should have joined the ACC.
Except they had a hard time making through their Big XII cake walk. OU and usually some other team like Kansas would beat their arrogant asses. You know they are bad when you agree with TAMU fans about something.
Clemson would saw the horns off that ugly milk cow.
Guarantee you next game at DKR is not a sellout. Most fair weather fans in the country.
Miami fans say “hold my pina colada”!
GT fans..”hold my mackerel”. Remember when the Bear had to wear a helmet on the sideline because they were throwing bottles at Mark Richt Field in Atlanta? And they threw fish at Arrogant Parseghian ..(this was in the 60’s). GT, Tennessee and Texass all low class behavior.
Now the cannon shot meme belongs to the Horny Cows.

They tried it with Jalon Walker’s jersey, but the cannonball got pushed back down the barrel for another TFL.
Pretty sure that is a fake post regarding the student tickets.
I heard on the radio this morning that UT sent emails to those identified throwing things on the field that read the same way.
It’s absolutely fake.
Obviously Kirby is a much bigger man than I am.
I’d have been tempted at games end to kind of blow by Sark with a comment like, “Nice light show you got there, gotta get me one of those,” and then beeline it over to McConaughey and act like the biggest fanboy ever. Ask for autograph, take a selfie and then casually remark, “Oh by the way, after Everette recovered that first fumble he came over, put on the savage pads, sat down and said, ‘Well alright, alright, alright.’ It kind of set the tone for the evening. Just wanted you to know what an inspiration it is for our boys to see you on the sideline.”
Thank God Kirby would never give another team locker room bulletin board material, but I’d have enjoyed it. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY don’t like Texas!
Quick OT question: I noticed in the Missouri-Auburn game that the officials had an “RR” on the back of their caps. I did not notice it during the Alabama-Tennessee game or ours (although I had had more to drink by then….). Anyone know what that is for? Did Rogers Redding die? If so, I’m sure he was looking on and nodding approvingly of the “officiating” in our game….
Redding passed back in the spring, if I recall correctly.
