1980 Flashback?

The prognosticators are busy at work this morning. Looks like Alabama is out, four B1G teams are in (still absolutely horrible…Army is more deserving than Indiana, but I digress)…but look at the potential matchup for Georgia.

Sidebar, how disinteresting is an Indiana State playoff in the first round? Yecch.

    • More demons for Kirby to exorcise, love it. Also, don’t expect Penn State can easily beat Clemson and Boise. Those will be very tough games for the Nittany Lions, and in fact I would guess it’s statistically 50/50 they win them both.

  1. First round has 2 maybe 3 really ugly returns, with which the committee will say “that was baked into the recipe we used to fuck up the regularly scheduled programming”….

  2. Yeah, IU vs ND is a bona fide “Boring Bowl” to us, but damned if wouldn’t be fire to my kin folks in Vincennes.

  3. Well that certainly gives Texas the easiest road to the final four. It does seem to be a dream selection for broadcasters. To the SEC office you can say. Welcome back to Bourbon Street on New Year’s again. GATA

    • I agree about Texas IF they can beat a good team. They played us tough last night and I’m not here to dawggrade but the more I see of them the more I’m inclined to believe conspiracies about Sankey and oil money.

  4. opportunity to exercise a lot of old historic demons in the next 6 weeks.
if i recall correctly, we are now 4-3 vs tejas? 2019 sugar bowl sigh. lessons learned though.
should kirby send someone to Manchester and see if Mr Terry is really 100% with hi$$$$$$ deci$$$$$ion…good riddance to him, we want Dawgs that want to be Dawgs not hired mercenaries.

  5. If that is what the committee comes up with I like our chances to get to the final. I would rather play Oregon for the first time this season instead of Texas for the third time, but if UT is who we have to play we’ll just have to beat them a third time.

  6. We had a 1983 Cotton Bowl flashback, why not a 1980 Sugar Bowl?

We can then avenge the 1982 Sugar or avenge the power ranger game, on our way to replay a CFA kick off game (Oregon).

I like the bracket the best of the ones I’ve found googling. A Texas and Indiana opening round. Vols and Chocolate Covered Peanutbutter Balls would be a good game.

  7. So an Indiana state championship, a Texas state championship, and a couple of Meteor Games. Sounds like a nice little weekend of football. What’s that, no Bama? Tough luck, Tide. Enjoy Orlando!

    • Mickey gonna’ get who they want, maybe not in the 1st drive by, to maximize return $$$$$$$, they need a rematch of the ducks vs tosu, they need UGA football vs nd, they need ducks vs texass, the setup is the real crime here, don’t look over here, look at the pretty water cooler talk to be had and the spontaneous usage of the lovely espn app for college football wagering…..”‘Cause I’m hung up
On dreams I’ll never see”….GO DAWGS!!
