What is your preference when the college football menu is loaded with watchable big games?

Or do you go Buddy’s Sports Bar* and bring every TV in the house (and maybe the iPad) and have even more games on at once?
Let us know your preferred set up!
*Buddy’s was a sports bar in Allbenny back in the 1990s I used to frequent. It was a pretty tight arrangement in there, but they had more TV screens per square foot than any place I’ve been outside of the Circ sports betting arena in Vegas.

Or, are you still so old-school that your child or grandchild is the remote?
Never had my kids do it because we had remotes, but I darn sure remember my dad saying turn the channels until—- So me or my brother, which ever was available, would sit beside the TV and turn the channel until my dad would decide on which show he wanted to watch. That was an ever night occurence. Man, the good old days.
I watch the game with my brother from a different mother. My wife will not let us watch games together at my house because she says we are too intense. That translates into we laugh and cuss and have too much fun. He is 70 and retired law enforcement, I’m 65 and almost retired. We start out watching the dawgs on a single screen, flipping between other games during commercials. After a couple of gummies and using the dab pen, we do quadbox for a bit then go to skycast. One time we overindulged and hit the SAP button and could not figure out how to get it back to English.
Flip.
They had the “sports bar” discussion on 680 a few weeks ago and were of the opinion that going to sports bars sucks (it kinda always did) because no one working there knows anything about sports, which games people want to watch, how to operate the TVs, etc. It was kind of ironic because a few days later during our bye week, we went to a sports bar for a late lunch and, in fact, they had hockey and tennis reruns on some of the TVs and, when the people next to us asked them to put on the Baylor-Kansas (State?) game, no one had a clue how to do it and it took awhile….
Personally, I can’t pay attention enough in public/groups to watch our games, so I have to pace and brood at home if we don’t go…..
I old school flip and check scores on my phone. I miss the days of a cable splitter and two crt’s.
I flip between games as I can’t stand a cluttered screen (I don’t like seeing all those games going on at once as I can’t concentrate on any of them to really know what’s going on). If UGA is on, I change channels during commercials (I hate commercials – but it seems like most games are on a commercial break at the same time, which should be impossible since the flow of each game should dictate the commercial breaks). If UGA is not playing at the time, I flip between games until I get bored with what I’m watching. If I just don’t care about the teams that are playing on all channels, I may just go cut the grass as I wait for the UGA game to start.
If I’m watching us, or hate watching Auburn, etc…, single screen and preferably at home.
If I’m not pulling for someone to lose, or watching us, I’m probably not even watching at all so it really doesn’t matter where I am or what the set up is.
The older I get, if I could care less about the outcome, I have little interest in watching a sporting event.
My Roku only allows for dual streams with FuboTV and I wld have to upgrade to the Roku Ultra for 4 stream support to allow the QuadBox. That is too many for me anyway. Especially on the size TV I have.
If it is the Bulldogs that is all I care about and just flip during commercials like others have mentioned.
Sometimes I will record several non-UGA games so I can flip between the recordings and then pause the action to jump between multiple games being played at the same time.
Sports bars are ok if it’s a game I’m not really interested in. For many of the reasons already stated. Once at a sports bar brunch buffet in Tempe all they had was rodeo the day of the Georgia game that was different. Any attempt to get CFB on a single channel was shot down.
For Georgia games I prefer a limited crew if anyone else. Don’t want to hear about non game related topics if the dawgs are playing. Crowds and cookouts are great for other games.
As for watching if Georgia is on its single screen only. Full coverage for most other games until one gets interesting. SkyCast was my protection from Herbicide and Fowler. Now SkyCast + is all I can get. Which is the normal network announcers WTF on that. The mute button is my friend until the silence gets weird.
Last week I synced the GeorgiaDogs broadcast. I’m not a Dantler fan however he’s much better than Herbie. If it wasn’t for the constant crap like this play is from Roger who’s home in Gainesville today. Brought to you by Ken Nugent one call bla bla mute. I would listen full time to the radio synced to the tv. I would pay now to hear that add free.
Here’s a revenue idea BM. Add a second live radio subscription based feed with zero commercials or promotions of any kind just football. Unfortunately that would require someone other than JD. I wouldn’t want him to lose his current deal with Ken Nugent.
Main game on big screen, second game on tablet next to me. I’ll flip around one or tbe other if need be.
Watching in a sports bar is more of a social outing, not optimized for sports viewing.
At home, one tv on in den and one on in bedroom. I pace a lot! My wife has her chair in the den. I’m not agile enough to watch multiple games on same screen. Listen to some of tv broadcast, but the mute button is Always close! Go Dawgs!!!
One game at a time only switching during commercials. Two games is too many for me; four would not be enjoyable at all
I have the YouTubeTV quad screen up for random games and I’ll switch back and forth between single screens when one gets really interesting. For UGA it’s single screen, preferably 4k Skycast with no announcers, on my Sony surround sound up really loud. 4k picture and sound on Skycast is incredible. Love it when the cam skirts over the top of our huddle and you can hear Gunner yelling the play calls. The roar Sanford made when Cole returned that fumble against OU was incredible in my living room.
Used to flip — but damn, the new 85″ Samsung when in Quad is absolutely terrific!!!
I never go to a sports bar to watch a game. When we travel and have to eat out, TVs are somewhat common these days. So in May we were in Pennsylvania eating at a Texas Roadhouse and I bet that there were 20 TVs on showing mostly baseball games then. I couldn’t follow it if I wanted to and couldn’t hear anything so I’m not sure why they had all those TVs.
At home I have a 16 year old 55″ 1080p LED and I stream everything through an Amazon Firestick using the remote that comes with it to control every device involved in the TV. If the Dawgs are on, that is all that is on. If I am really bored before or after the Dawgs game I will do the multi-screen just to see if anything interesting is happening. It is seldom that I care about those games, but there are times that the outcome may affect us or sometimes I want to pretend that I am scouting an upcoming opponent for Kirby. 😉
For Georgia games, always dedicated single screen. Same if there is a game I’m interested in watching intently.
For background games while doing stuff around the house, I like the quad box, but my wife hates it, so I typically flip to whichever game is most compelling (unless she’s out and about).
Wow, after reading I guess I’ve become old school. Dawgs on the big or main screen (or whatever game is most important at the time). And we still have DIRECTV which I find great for sports so bring in the secondary smaller tv & the receiver from the bedroom and set up the ‘favorites’ to channel thru the other games on the smaller screen while the main event is center stage. So only one game on each screen but two screens going.
Georgia on the big screen always, might split screen on a secondary TV. When Georgia isn’t playing you put the most interesting game on the smaller TV and split screen the big TV. Prior to split screens a few years ago I used to have 4 TVs in the living room.
I’m a one screen guy. I record the Ga game so I can flip back and forth to other games and then go back to the Ga. game and take up where I left off. Also recording gives me an opportunity to puase and get me another shaker and what I love best – skip the damn five minute commercial breaks.
