There was one competitive match last week. Both Back 2 Back and Sanford Stadium won by over 10 percentage points. And Lindsey Scott overwhelmed Herschel Walker in the most lopsided vote with close to a 70/30 split. Erk Russell gave Ringo’s Pick 6 quite the close race. Close to 180 of you voted and, had Erk gained 9 more votes he’d have made the semis. A few of you commented that the B/W pictures wouldn’t look as nice as the color images. That’s a matter of taste, I guess, but Erk’s strong performance tells me that right image could’ve been either.

To me the black and white looks great. This has been fun. Years from now when Refugees is still going strong and lots of people who came along later don’t understand the name it will be cool to know we were here at the beginning and part of choosing the banner.

That seminal moment, a moment that put a tear in my eye. That moment unburdened so many heartbreaks that I have carried throughout the years. The inexplicable moments where the gridiron gods turned their backs on us over the last 25 years; the reckoning was paid in a span of a mere 79 yards and 15 seconds. The moment of Terrence’s 02’ dropped pass in Jacksonville, the head scratching loss on Knoxville of 2007, that bizarre batted pass on the Plains, the 2012 SEC championship, 2nd and 26….All of those were finally put into a place where they would never haunt us again with those thoughts of “What if?” And that phase ceased to be in our private gloomy lexicons. It was truly an exorcism for the Bulldawg nation.

That first one was a tough choice. My head knew that back to back is going to win, so I voted with my heart and went with Lindsey Scott. That play, and the Ringo pick six (my other vote) were the two single plays that brought the most joy to my Dawg fandom.
