In the NIL era, does it really matter any more? For years and years we heard the mantra of it is important to keep the integrity of the bowl, while creating a system that does the opposite. The swag bags are not appealing to kids already bring home dollars and/or opting out for draft protection, but the mickey conglomerate still needs program content and the AD’s and presidents are addicted to bring home the bowl checks. I am not an SEC SEC chanting fan, so it is really an antiquated measurement of conference power rankings. The dollars don’t increase for wins versus losses, so Greg will have no problem promoting the conference total money take as his trophy.
Who cares? It always cracks me up that people use bowl records as some measure when its typically one conferences #2 vs the sec’s #9 team. Why? Because our top teams are playing for the big prizes ya bunch a losers.
